Acrostics are crosswords with a twist: find the hidden quote. This combination of crossword and cryptogram provides an entertaining brain workout. Each letter in the quote is linked to a letter in one of the clue answers. As you fill in more and more answers, more letters will begin to fill the quote grid, until eventually the entire quote is revealed. Once the quote is partially filled in, you can also do this process in reverse – each letter you add to the quote will fill in the corresponding letter in the clue answers. By working back-and-forth, eventually the entire quote and all clue answers will be revealed.
The app includes 60 free quality puzzles with no ads, ever. They range from beginner to expert from renowned publishers like Acrostica, Acrostics by Cyn, Lovatts Puzzles, PennyPress Crostics, Puzzle Baron and Spanish language puzzles from Tav Ripo. Additional puzzle packs containing 48 to 50 puzzles are available for a small fee; the full library is over 6350 puzzles!
Advanced play features include automatic grid updating and indexing, see related cells, multi-level undo, remove errors, and hints. A wide range of difficulty levels will challenge beginners and seasoned players alike.

Updates expert awards for puzzles completed when no rating existed. This should be a popular release for long time Acrostic puzzlers! As more puzzles are played, we (anonymously) gather solving times and calculate an "expert time" for every puzzle. If you solved a puzzle before a time is calculated (e.g. a new volume of puzzles), then awards were never given. This should be fixed now, and many of you will find that prior puzzles might now tagged as "Expert" and the badge values will change. A quick reminder, if you use hints in a puzzle, you can't get an Expert rating. Also, if you don't like any of this badge & rating stuff, use Zen mode to hide it all.
Of course, if you're playing Cynthia's new volume (from last week), they don't have solving statistics yet, but when enough of you play, they will be updated!
Also fixes an annoying bug where the keyboard would sometimes hide the current clue (started with recent iOS updates).

I'm sorry. I messed up when we released volumes 35-40 of Penny Dell puzzles a couple of months ago. They were duplicates of volumes 28-34. A sharp eyed player noticed and patiently explained the problem. This release completely replaces those volumes with the brand new no-repeat puzzles. If you've played any puzzles in Penny Dell volumes 35-40, I suggest you tap on Solved Puzzles and clear them. Also, in the last release there was a problem making consecutive volume purchases. Reverts the prior version's "fix" for clearing puzzles, as some completed puzzles were now being cleared for no obvious reason. I'll go back to the drawing board and see if I can work this out. Fixes a bug with clearing Solved Puzzles so they can be played again. Several wonderful customers patiently explained that sometimes after resetting a bunch of puzzles so they could be enjoyed a second time, a few days later they would revert back to being solved. Also fixes a problem with sometimes mismatched "Puzzles Left" counts and a couple of rare crashes.
The clearing bug was a real challenge to find and fix, as it ties into the automatic iCloud backup system, as well as syncing between multiple devices, but it should work as expected now. If you play on multiple devices and have any problems sharing between them, please tap Help – Contact Support in the app and let me know.

It is now simpler to clear puzzles to play them again, or review recently solved puzzles. The new "Solved Puzzles" button near the bottom of the main screen replaces the separate library tab. The bottom tabs have been removed completely and Help is moved to the top of the screen above the badges. This frees up space on the screen and overall simplifies the app (and hopefully I won't get emails asking me how to re-play puzzles anymore!). The User Guide has been updated with information about expert ratings and clearing puzzles.
