Learn Eastern Armenian the easiest way through the AYOlingo app.
No matter your proficiency in the Armenian language, AYOlingo provides an easy and free learning experience for Armenian language learners.
The app currently has 90 modules, with 30 more to be released in the future. The app will help you learn Armenian and teach you:
- the basics of the Armenian language
- grammatical tenses
- animal names
- common phrases
- feeling expression
- numbers
- adjectives
- food
And much more.
The app also has a vocabulary section to help you look up the words in the Armenian language easier.
You can also follow your friends and see their progress in learning Armenian. Some friendly competition will, of course, help you learn more efficiently through our leaderboard.

Great but no sound - отличное, но нет звука
The most successful application for learning Armenian that I have seen. The course program is perfectly made. We can learn a language without cramming, grammar is understood in the process of performing exercises. I finally managed to make progress in Armenian. But there is no sound at all! The app is better than the others even without sound, but if it is possible to turn it on, it will be perfect. I will not remove the star for the sound, because the application is free.

Наконец-то удалось продвинуться в армянском. Но совсем нет звука! Приложение лучше остальных даже без звука, но если есть возможность его включить, оно будет идеальным. Звезду за звук снимать не буду, ведь приложение бесплатное.

Difficult to use, bugs
First couple of units are fine and easy to follow because the new vocabulary is introduced gradually and with the help of pictures. But quite soon the app starts pouring loads of new words on you, and having no idea what they mean you are supposed to somehow construct sentences out of them. The word order or any basic rules are not taught either.
Lots of bugs, the sound doesn’t work 80% of the time, the app collapses every now and then. I use IPhone XR, iOS 14.7.1

The app has potential, but needs some serious improvements.
- Not all phares and words have audio, or it just doesn't work.
- There is no particular structure. The first few units are fine, but then you need to guess the right word or match pairs out of completely new words.
- Some grammatical particularities are shown, but not explained.
- Translation mistakes for similar phrases.
The interface is fine though.

Bugs
There are some bugs in the part “common phrases”. In an exercise where need to translate two phrases, the app shows error all time. e.x., if I select “goodbye, Alex” app shows “wrong. Correct answer is Goodbye, Alex”!! What’s wrong, what’s different? (I have a screenshot, if you need).
And how I can to translate the next phrase, if the app only allows me translate just first phrase and not second?

Well, I've given the app 5 stars, because it is just great that it exists and it basically works.
However, there is a number of problems that I hope will be fixed.
1. No feedback mechanisms. Both, regarding usability and tasks. So, if something is not working for me, I have no way to inform the developers (if only here). Or I couldn't find this way.
2. Usability sometimes could be better. It's not always quite clear how stuff works. Like the Perfect Pronunciation section (which is rather important due, because Armenian phonetics is not trivial). Also, I failed to find any options to add friends.
3. Audio sometimes lags.
4. Audio sometimes seems to be absent, despite the presence of the "play" icon.
5. Grammar and word usage explanations could be quite helpful, haven't seen any.
6. Some exercises don't take into account several possible solutions. For instance, many require the explicit usage of a pronoun as a subject, while it is not required by the language.
(7. To use this review as a general feedback platform: it would be great to have a web app for this learning instrument, alongside with the mobile app.)
