NOTE - This player is only for use of BIMM students and staff: you will need a BIMM login to use it.
You’re learning to play GUITAR/BASS/KEYBOARDS/DRUMS – or maybe you’re an aspiring VOCALIST.
You want to practise the songs you’ve learnt so why not do it with a band?
The BIMMPlayer enables you to do exactly that - and it’s a lot more fun !
The BIMMPlayer is really simple to use and like being in a BAND. First head to the SETLIST and find the free preloaded song. Here's where it gets fun. You can now play the song and start familiarising yourself with the simple controls. Hit SOLO to hear an instrumental part by itself and add any other tracks you need. Alternatively you can MUTE instruments to get the right mix for you. You can CREATE A MIX of any combination of the available instrumental tracks as you wish.
If you want to practise a section or part then simply MUTE or SOLO the instruments as required, press the LOOP button on that section and it will repeat until you decide you’re ready to move on. You can jump to any section by pressing the JUMP TO button next to the section that you wish to jump to.
Why not use the BIMMPlayer for LIVE PERFORMANCE? Choose a killer SETLIST from your favourite songs in the LIBRARY, mute the instruments that you don't want, plug your iPhone or iPad into the PA from your headphone output and away you go!
Why not get your friends to learn different parts at home and then get together to play live? REHEARSALS and PERFORMANCE become much more fun because everybody has already nailed the song.
BEGINNERS: Using the BIMMPlayer makes practising much more fun and gets you familiar with PLAYING WITH OTHER MUSICIANS. You can improve by playing songs and genres that you love. The best thing is that you control the mix.
COVERS BANDS: Use the BIMMPlayer to create your SETLIST from our extensive LIBRARY. In fact the LIBRARY OF SONGS was created with research of the top most popular covers band songs. Get the band to REHEARSE AT HOME and when you get to GIG everyone has nailed the set. If one of your musicians doesn't turn up, it's no problem simply UN-MUTE their part and away you go. Create DIFFERENT MIXES FOR DIFFERENT VENUES e.g. in a smaller venue maybe cut out the drums and some guitars but keep the main keyboards and backing vocals. Simply HOOK UP YOUR IPHONE OR IPAD to the PA and away you go.
TEACHERS: Sometimes getting students to practise effectively is hard especially in the first few weeks, but when the student can PLAY WITH OTHER MUSICIANS suddenly the experience is so much more rewarding. Set a section for the student to learn, show the student how their part interacts with the others. Playing along with a backing track helps with confidence as there are no awkward stops when they make a mistake, the band keep playing so the student will pick up again very quickly.
