Understanding complex bony Anatomy and Pathology of the Foot and Ankle is essential to the interpretation of musculoskeletal CT. The anatomy of the ankle is complex and in the past CT evaluation of the ankle was often limited to axial slices and simple multiplanar reconstructions. However improvements in CT scanning technology now allow thin collimation and isotropic datasets. These advances along with easy to use 3D software have improved our ability to image the ankle with volume display. It is important for the radiologist to be familiar with the anatomy in all 3 dimensions.
This atlas aims to educate the radiologist with respect to normal and pathological anatomy through case studies and artist rendered interactive 3D models and illustrations. Radiology professionals will have a better understanding of ankle and foot bony anatomy after using this atlas.
