12.1
2023-10-08
In addition to being able to map fixed resources such as AEDs, bleed kits, water rescue and fire equipment, this update brings the ability to register if you are carrying life saving equipment.
You can now indicate under the me tab if you are carrying:
An AED
Bleed / trauma kit
Naloxone
An Epipen.
This enables emergency services to specifically alert those who have this equipment to specific emergencies. This does not affect the normal cardiac response and the code of conduct should still be followed if a cardiac responder.
There is also a “I am physically fit and can lift” toggle. This means emergency and voluntary services can request help from those nearby in manual tasks such as lifting patients and deploying sandbags in flooding.

Other additional features within this update include:
- Easier registration – anyone can register to be a GoodSAM responder from within the App

GoodSAM is now providing Video Pathways to Ambulance and Police Services, for example enabling emergency callers video to be forwarded directly to an on-call hospital team. This has considerable benefits in speeding patients to the right resource for their needs. As such, there are some new functions to support this:
- If a live stream is forwarded to you, you can view it by simply tapping on the push notification.
- If a recorded stream is forwarded to you, you can view it by simply tapping on the push notification.
- If you have been invited to a consultation (either directly or via video pathways), you can join it by simply tapping on the push notification.
