We’ve been working with our chatbot friend, SquatchBot, a mad scientist creation that combines the folklore legend Sasquatch with the power of artificial intelligence, to familiarize him with thousands of pieces of outdoor gear. Squatchbot now can answer your questions about gear by tagging the actual gear he is referencing. To try out SquatchBot, members can tap + in the bottom menu, then toggle “Mark my post as a question.”

The Houndsmen Trail is LIVE! Tap your Home Screen and in your tray, you can scroll over to see “Houndsmen,” where you can explore all-things hounds. Trophies that are tagged as hounds now go to the Houndsman trail, and when tagged with Mobile Hunting, they go to the Mobile Hunting Trails. SquatchBot also now recommends gear when you ask questions about gear.

Big news for long-time members: You can now edit your Trophies! So if you fat fingered a stat, you can easily fix that by tapping the 3 dot menu on your Trophy. We’ve also added some functionality for houndsmen, which includes being able to list if you pursued the Trophy with hounds. The Houndsmen Pursuit page is also coming soon.

This release also includes a few other small updates to improve performance.

We did it. We finally added hashtags. We’ve admittedly loathed the idea of hashtags in GoWild because they can be spammy and vanity driven, but ultimately we decided they could be useful and caved in. Let us know how you’re liking the addition!

• The keyboard no longer covers the text when you’re editing a long post
• We fixed a bug with @ tagging members with special characters in their name
• Released a Sasquatch NFT you can earn by posting videos of you singing the theme song to “Harry and the Hendersons”

Howdy, GoWild fam. While half the team has been in Pennsylvania, the code conquerors have cranked hard over the last few weeks and added some nice features to the app.

New additions:
• You now have quantity controls that display on the product pages
• You can block SquatchBot if he’s getting on your nerves. More info on him coming later.
• When you’re in the cart, you can now tap the product and go back to the product page
• On your home tray, product reviews are now on display and show points earned
• Reviews on product pages have been improveds

Most of our team is in Pennsylvania for the Great American Outdoor Show, which means once again it falls to Chris (one of the developers) to write the release notes. With everyone traveling, it was the perfect time to knock out some under the hood fixes to the app.

In between the fishing trips, and bear and late season deer hunts, we’ve still been cranking. This week’s version update is mostly doing a little post-Christmas cleaning. We’ve updated a few bugs on the notifications screen, fixed a few things on product pages and hidden the magical Christmas elf for the season. If you have hiding suggestions for next year’s elf, please post and tag Dan Hood from our team. He has no clue we’re telling you to do this - it’ll be a fun game.

This update is less of a gift from Santa, and more of an update, although it does improve a few things. Mostly, we’ve improved our category pages in the shop so that you see gear that’s trending first. The category pages also default to products that are in stock. Other than that, it’s a few things you need not fret your jolly little head with right now. Go have an eggnog and fall asleep by the fire (just not too close to it—that sounds dangerous).

Anyways, this version significantly improves the posting process. You can switch between posts and trophies and time logs and you won’t lose progress. If you close the app mid-post, when you open up the post will still be there waiting for you to complete it. Yeah, pretty cool.
