Groupcall Xpressions is a child-centred personal communications timeline showing messages and updates from your child(ren’s) school(s):

• NOTIFICATIONS and MESSAGES : Your child’s school can send you messages for free, saving them money. Messages such as school closures, trip updates, exam reminders or notifications on attendance, behaviour or achievement are all relayed through a single app.
• SCHOOL DATA: access the core elements of your child’s student record to dive into their history of attendance, achievement, progress and behaviour. See their lesson or exam timetables. Access the school calendar to see what events are approaching.*
• ADD-ONS: Depending on what systems your child’s school uses, Xpressions can integrate with homework systems, parental payment systems, booking systems and more to provide you a one stop shop for everything to do with your child’s school life.*
• SECURE: Unlike many other apps, Xpressions gives you secure access to personal data about your child.
*Access to school data and add-ons is entirely dependent on the systems your school uses – check with your school to see what services are available to you. Currently, School Data access is unavailable to schools/parents in Scotland.

If your school has directed you to download the app then welcome - You'll soon be on your way to receiving your child's data in the palm of your hand!

When the download and install is complete you simply need to provide your email address and mobile phone number where prompted by the app. These MUST match the details held by your school – we check their database to keep your child’s data secure. You’ll receive an SMS text message to double check you are who you say you are – simply enter this when prompted. If you get stuck, have a look at http://parents.groupcall.com where you’ll find plenty of information to get you moving. If you get really stuck, and you have already checked your details with your school, please contact Groupcall at [email protected]

What’s New: EVERYTHING!!! Xpressions has been completely rebuilt from the ground up to bring you a brand new interface – fully web-based (inside the app) to do away with downloading large volumes of data which could cause problems for you. The app also now no longer directly relies on a connection to your school at all times as before. You should not get any more of those annoying SQL or other errors!

We have listened to your feedback. We know the old Xpressions had its problems, and we at Groupcall thank you for your feedback and your patience while we addressed this.

We have restyled and refreshed the interface, simplified the navigation, removed the complexities of multiple swimlanes, and made Xpressions more intuitive for new and existing users.

You will see a new introduction video, that depending on your school’s subscription will differ and show you all you have access to. And for those parents using the enhanced features, that information on your children is all available in one tap.

We have added integration for Online Payments*, Homework*, Parents Evening Booking* and more coming soon.

*This depends on the systems being used by your school.

Please note that we are upgrading Xpressions for everyone in 2 stages during early March 2018 – You may see the new interface AND the older app features for a short time while this upgrade is carried out – please bear with us on this.

We have added a new feature to allow you to ‘silence’ the notifications for periods of the day/night. If you use this feature, configurable via the settings menu, the Xpression will still appear on the timeline, but the notification popup on your device will not appear. Helpful during meetings or during the night!

You can now also access your Xpressions timeline and other feature on the web, at https://xpressions.groupcall.com – login just as you do on the app.

We have also addressed a number of common issues experienced by parents related to the notification reliability, and where children are missing from the app. PLEASE do get in touch if you have any issues with using the app.

We've fixed some bugs and made some optimisations to the way the app works based on your feedback. Further improvements are coming that will need to be applied to your school’s servers. This will be available in due course and we will work with your school to get these additional improvements in place.

In this version we have included support for TouchID to allow you to unlock the app using a fingerprint as configured on your device. Simply set a pin code and then your device (if supported) will prompt you to use a fingerprint instead.

We have also included support for Google Analytics, which Groupcall uses to collect anonymous usage data, that enables us to improve the app and provide enhancements to the features you use. You can opt out of this at any time, even before you next open the app – from the device’s settings menu. In line with this, we have updated the Groupcall Xpressions Privacy Policy, located at parents.groupcall.com/privacy.

We have listened to your feedback too and have fixed a number of issues, as well as improving the performance and stability of the app, including some work in the background on the speed issues that some users have reported so you should see improvement in the next update of Xpressions.

Groupcall Emerge for Parents is now called Groupcall Xpressions, and the changes do not stop there. You will still be able to access the same information you have always done; the Groupcall Xpressions app presents this in a fresh new look (and colour!).

The main difference you will notice is the Xpressions Timeline showing messages and notification for a variety of different events, giving you a single app to view everything your child is doing at school.
