Heya lets you place eggs in AR and leave a secret inside. In a similar fashion to an Easter egg hunt, users go to different locations to find these eggs and to reveal their secrets.

The idea behind Heya is to provide a new mean of communicating through virtual objects placed in a real world environment. A user goes to a certain location and places a virtual object, here in essence an egg, and leaves a secret message inside. Another user goes to that same location, opens that egg, smiles and leaves another message inside. Every user who has been at the location and who has opened that egg are now connected through a chat.

What to insert inside your egg? Here are just a few examples to get you started:

• Fortune cookies like quotes
• A picture or video taken at the scene
• Instructions for the location of a real physical object hidden nearby
• Coupons or gift cards to reward those who came to the location
• For someone special said in a very special way
• Get fancier and start organizing treasure hunts where one egg leads to the next.

Have something personal or special to say? Make your egg hidden to ensure only those you’ve shared it with will see it on their map.

Other features include:

• Videos: beyond text and photos, now you can also insert videos
• Your Map: you can now add / bookmark pins of interests to your map
• Quick Zoom: quickly zoom back and forth on the map only using your thumb
• Alerts: be alerted when someone adds and / or captures your egg
• Countless UI/UX improvements including a globe view when zooming out far enough!

Too many eggs? Clustering to the rescue. Now eggs in the same visual location are grouped together. Tap on a group (we like to call these nests) and the map zooms in showing you where each egg is located. Yeah!

Other changes include:

- spell checking + auto correction for hint text view
- haptic feedback on key actions
- some cosmetic UX improvements
- the usual bug fixing

We now have a much nicer looking egg with physically based materials, lighting, drop shadow and an overall neater shape. Yeah! After creating an egg you may also want to promote it. So we've added a tiny success banner after each egg drop. Tapping on it takes you to your standard sharing menu. Of course you can always share an egg directly by accessing its menu (standard share button or by long tapping on a pin). We hope you'll enjoy this update as much as we did.

- ask to update the app when the app gets outdated
