On the banks of rivers Pliva and Vrbas, raises up one of the most beautiful towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which used to be a royal town, and nowadays it is the open-air museum, the town Jajce. In the heart of the town, resulting from the river Pliva flowing into the Vrbas river, down the tufa rock, appears a magnificent, 21 metres high waterfall.
Cultural material remains and written resources indicate human existence on the valley of the rivers Pliva and Vrbas, already in the prehistorical period. Findings from the antique period have an exceptional value, which witnesses about the existence of the Roman settlement in the town’s area.
All these historical happenings and political changes shaped the look of Jajce nowadays.
