We know it can be difficult for young people to get help on their own terms – and on their own time. To meet this need, Kickstand has launched Kickstand Connect – a free online portal that will make it easy to connect to mental health providers by video, audio or chat. No more waiting for a referral! If you are ayoung person between the ages of 12 to 25 or a family member/caregiver of a young person in Alberta, this app is for you.
The Kickstand Connect app offers young people living in Alberta access to
drop-in or same day connection with a counsellor, peer support worker or
group workshop. Support for mental health, substance use, loss of
connectedness and/or a desire to build new skills are all great reasons to log on! Things are always changing within the clinic and so plan to visit more than once!
About Kickstand:
Kickstand is a province-wide collaboration between philanthropic donors, service providers, young people and parents/caregivers committed to transforming how young people in Alberta access health and social services.
This integrated model puts young people at the centre of care and connects them to a variety of service providers in a single, recognizable physical and/or virtual location. It involves providing equitable access to innovative, co-created and accessible resources, tools and services that are relevant and address the unique characteristics of individuals 12-25 years old.
