Introducing LookUp 9.1. This version of LookUp includes:
Reading Mode: Reading Mode enables a distraction free reading experience, allowing users to LookUp words quickly, whether they’re reading a physical book or reading online. It exposes key LookUp actions to the iPhone through Live Activities, so users can quickly access recently searched words, and functions such as Search and Scan Words through the device’s Lock Screen or Dynamic Island whenever they want.
To start using Reading Mode:
1. Launch LookUp on an iOS 16.1 and above iPhone
2. Tap on the Search Tab and then tap Reading Mode.
3. Pick the time you’d like to read for, and tap “Start Reading Mode”
*Reading Mode is only available on iPhones running iOS 16.1 and above
App Shortcuts: With App Shortcuts, Simply ask Siri for “Word of the Day for LookUp” or to “Get Similar Words using LookUp”. The new App Shortcuts enable users to access key actions from Siri, Spotlight and Shortcuts without any pre-setup. LookUp has also been updated with more powerful filter actions that make the experience even better when using LookUp’s actions in Shortcuts.
*App Shortcuts require iOS 16.1 and above

Introducing LookUp 9. This version of LookUp includes:
Sharing: New sharing controls make it easier for people to share words with friends, and with Shared with You on the latest version of iOS, the app surfaces words that your friends share with you, in an easy to access shelf in the Search tab.
Notes: Notes is a great tool to store quotations, personalised definitions (these could be in their own native language to better understand the context) and images that better explain the word to the people. It enables people to personalise the word in the way they want.
Lock Screen Widgets: LookUp offers a variety of Lock Screen widgets to customise the Lock Screen. These can be for glancing at the Word of the Day, quick actions such as Search, or show a user’s vocabulary building progress for a particular collection through the Learn Widget.
Lock Screen Widgets and Shared with You require iOS 16 or more.

LookUp 8 Introduces brand new ways to build your vocabulary and organise your collections, making it a one of a kind, state of the art app for learner’s of the English language.
Introducing Learn: Learn uses scientifically proven methods to improve your vocabulary by organising learning sessions in a timely manner allowing for vocabulary building over time.
You can start learning words by tapping on the new Learn tab and picking a collection. As you start learning the words in the app, you’ll notice a progress bar move forward to indicate how far you’ve progressed in a collection to improve your vocabulary.
Learn each day to maintain your streak and improve your vocabulary in the process.
Personalise your collections with Symbols: Use symbols to personalise your collections even further. Symbols are a great way to distinguish your collections and offer further context.
Widgets: An improved and redesigned collections widget allowing you to see more relevant information in larger sizes.
Annotations: With the latest version of iPadOS users can now annotate their words by dragging a note from the bottom right edge of the screen.

If you lost data during the migration process in the previous update: We've added a new "Restore Lost Data" button in Settings to recover any data lost during the migration process in the previous version of the app (LookUp 7.5). If your collections didn't show up after the migration process, please try using the Restore Lost Data setting to recover the data. (This should work without any issue if you didn't delete and reinstall the app after the update)

New iPad UI: We’ve completely rethought the iPad UI with a new sidebar interface. The interface is a complete rethinking of how people use the app on iPad, with flatter navigation, drag and drop support to add words to different collections. It’s ideal for the big scree of the iPad.
Universal Purchase: LookUp is now a universal purchase on Apple platforms, if you use LookUp on iOS you can now download the app on the Mac App Store to start using it!
Export Collections: You can now export collections to a PDF file and share amongst your friends.
