The News Music Search Archive is the best known resource for detailing the history of news music usage on local stations in the United States.

Within the app users can search and review news music usage by station name, market, state, composer, and theme. News themes, news opens, and image campaign songs all can be played within the app.

Learn about how certain music logos have been used in multiple news theme packages spanning decades and appearing all across the country. See how some songs totally unrelated to the news industry ended up being inspiration for a news theme.

Ever wondered what those three or four letters starting with K or W actually stand for? Your station may be explained.

Been curious about that voice announcing the news in your hometown? There may be a name to pair with that voice.

Maybe you have visited another city only to find that a station there looks and sounds like a station at home? There's a section inside that lists station ownership and allows you to see sister stations that may share similarities to your hometown channel.
