nOaks (Infinite Oaks) is an augmented reality (AR) experience by artist Tess Elliot for Oklahoma Contemporary’s June Studio-in-Place program. The work imagines reintroducing native Cross Timber woodlands to the central region of Oklahoma. Use the map to locate GPS specific AR portals around the OKC metro area to access the virtual biome. Once activated, walk through an extensive, changing terrain of post oaks, blackjack oaks, black hickory, and other native flora from this unique ecological region.
