The Olympus Viewer for Imaging Applications, OlyVIA mobile, is an image viewer for whole slide microscopic images which are located on a Olympus Net Image Server, NISSQL . OlyVIA mobile allows fast and easy to use remote viewing anywhere at any time. Dedicated for virtual slides, OlyVIA mobile will display even large brightfield as well as fluorescence images in a convenient user-friendly way. Predefined image collections in Europe and the US can be accessed without dedicated user accounts, but also private Net Image Server databases can be configured for remote image streaming.

OlyVIA mobile allows not only viewing images but also to annotate images and to do measurements.
A sophisticated user rights management enables to organize annotations for specific user groups.

OlyVIA mobile is an application for Education and Research Use Only and not for use in diagnostic purpose

The new version of OlyVIAmobile has been improved with new functions and minor bugfixes have been made:
- Image names and image information which exceeds a single text line can be displayed in a message box
- Depending on the displayed image magnification, the scale bar will dynamically adjust and calculate the correct value
- The scanned slide label is accessible as a separate image
- Minor fix for magnification display

The new version of OlyVIA mobile has been improved with many new functions:

- It is possible to create a snapshot of the image which will be saved in the iPad Image Gallery.
- A hyperlink addressing the image can be send by e-mail to access the image directly using OlyVIAmobile or OlyVIAweb including the selected position of interest, the rotation angle and the zoom factor
- An annotation and measurement tool has been implemented which allows to
- create/modify/delete annotations of different shapes. Each object can be scaled and rotated
- each annotation can be modified in color and transparency (fill color, border color)
- for each annotation the area, respectively the length is calculated and displayed
- a sophisticated user rights management allows to apply to each annotation a permission set, a name, a description and an author
- the permission set of each annotation defines the visibility and the possibility to modify the annotation for each user or group
- a special user called "guest" who has no rights to modify/delete or create any annotation can be used
