The focus of this project is to use the Medable Axon app during the Phase 4 pragmatic study that will enroll 1050 patients in 20-40 site locations. The patients will be sent a device from Daavlin to perform phototherapy 3x per week for 12 weeks.
This app is the patient portal for all of the data that will be gathered in the Penn LITE study. Clinicians will invite patients to sign up in the psoriasis study and patients will enroll in this app. Once enrolled, activities and tasks will appear that require the patient to complete. Most of these tasks are surveys inquiring about a patient's psoriasis condition for that day, or how they are feeling after a specific treatment. Patients answer the questions on the app and responses are automatically sent to clinicians at the site. The patient tasks also include taking pictures of the affected area of the body, another task they will need to perform on a monthly basis.
This app will help clinicians monitor the body's response to in-home phototherapy sessions. The ultimate goal of this study is to determine whether in-home treatment can be as effective as in-clinic treatment. Patients will use phototherapy machines in their homes to receive treatment, then they will use this app to answer questions about how they are feeling, the status of their psoriasis condition, etc.
