Fearless, intelligent & provocative commentary on & analysis of Thoroughbred Horse Racing
Punters Show's Glenn Pollett and Marc Lambourne provided six years of sophisticated yet streetwise insight into the Australian horse racing landscape, often with a light touch. They now combine the perfect blend of wit and wisdom at RacingRant. At RacingRant they are joined by "Gordo", making his debut media appearance, and providing more of an off-course perspective.
Glenn and Marc first crossed paths in the once frenetic betting rings on Sydney’s racecourses in the early 1980s. Both eager inductees to the mysteries of the Turf, they carved out careers in wagering on Thoroughbreds, as bookmakers, professional punters and keen analysts. They each bring three and a half decades of racecourse wisdom to the panel, and specialise in Sydney Metropolitan and Provincial Horse Racing.
Gordo was a self-confessed “mug” punter who dreamed of living off the punt. He cultivated the respected nous of esteemed pro-punters and lifted himself up by his bootstraps to become a player with a future. His story is a testament to the ethos behind RacingRant. Educate thyself and Win!
Glenn discovered, after a meteoric rise into the firmament of Sydney’s professional punters, that firstly, hard work lay ahead of him and secondly, he needed an edge. He found that edge in the mounting yard, learning that his study of racehorse form could be neatly complemented by a clever assessment of the horse’s physical condition. Glenn’s form and condition insights comprise the now famous “Mounting Yard Mail” (MYM), available via SMS direct from the mounting yard.
Marc was targeted early on as protégé material, firstly by esteemed bookmaker/punter Tom Moore, then rails trailblazer Peter Todd. He sat at the feet of these form gurus, and determined to explore every nuance the racehorse form game had to offer. Marc has been providing his insightful assessments to most of the key players on the Sydney wagering landscape as well as trading upon them himself since 1987. He believes strongly in the dissemination of information and ideas, and has become renowned for his “Pearls of Wisdom”.
