2.3
2020-08-04
NEW:
- Adds serial number, firmware version, battery firmware version, model number etc to vehicle info.
- More overall Ride app stats: longest distance recorded in a single ride, longest duration recorded in a single ride, total locations recorded and most locations recorded in a single ride.
- Adds a way for you to export rides to JSON, and import again. You could use this to export from one device and import on another, until cross-device syncing is built. This also means you can "back up" your rides before trying out a beta of Ride or iOS, since you can't always downgrade.
FIXED:
- Improves odometer calculation, specifically for the Rev which was wildly incorrect. You might find that the value is slightly different or incorrect until you next connect your vehicle.
- Fixes an issue where the app could be killed in the background while a ride is paused, causing you to lose your in-progress ride.
- Fixed a few crashes with Realm, the underlying database that Ride currently uses.
- Fixes a bug where the ride snapshot when sharing a ride would look wrong if the device is in dark mode.
2.2

Hello!
Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season. I'm sorry for the delay in getting this update out to you, we got a puppy and everything else got put on pause!
Here's what's changed in 2.2:
- Support for auto-pausing and auto-resuming rides when your board stops and starts.
- Support for automatically turning off or on the Rev headlight when your screen brightness drops below a chosen level (i.e. when you're outside at night or in a tunnel).
- Auto-end will no longer trigger if your board is currently moving.
- Suppresses connect/disconnect notifications so you get spammed less when the connection drops and reconnects straight away.
- Adds a new notification for when your Ride has auto-ended.
- Fixes getting spammed with notifications when boards periodically drop to 99% charged and back up to 100% while on charge.
- Formats elevation gain/loss based on your chosen units.
- The odometer values will update when you foreground the iOS app, without needing your vehicle to reconnect.
- Adopts new iOS 13 card style presentation of screens.
- Properly calls the Rev a Rev instead of Scooter A.
- Fixes an issue where changing the Rev's mode through Ride wouldn't reflect properly in the app until the next connection, even though the mode was changed.
- Improved logging. (Sending logs to me to debug issues helps immensely!)
- Slight tweaks to copy throughout.
I've also started designing Ride 3, although I can't give any timelines on when it will be out. Ride 3 will help improve how you navigate rides when you've tracked multiple, and hopefully support multiple boards at once!

Hello, Riders!
I've been working on a neat update for you all ready for Spring.
Here's what's new in v2.1:
- Introducing Auto-start: Ride can now automatically start tracking a ride for those of you who own a Boosted board. As soon as your board starts moving, Ride will start tracking your ride. Combined with Auto-end, Ride is more powerful than ever. You can automatically track full rides without ever opening the app (so long as you've given Ride the right permissions).
- Super lovely new charging animation in Ride for iOS. Check it out!
- Ride for Apple Watch has a brand-spanking new UI. Significantly quicker to navigate as horizontally paged screens, with the speedometer in the middle page, board details to the left, and ride details to the right. Everything looks fresher and more refined.
- Support for Apple Watch Series 4's new set of Complications.
- Ride can now optionally also track rides as "Skating sport" workouts, both on iPhone and Apple Watch. Workouts are saved to Health, and contribute to your daily Apple Watch activity if you have one.
- Ride for Apple Watch now better reflects individual board settings, like critical charge levels.
- Complications will update more frequently where possible, like when connecting to power. 3rd party apps only get 50 updates a day, so Ride is still careful about when it updates the Complications on your Watch face.
- Fixes an issue where deleting and re-installing Ride for watchOS wouldn't immediately sync already paired boards and settings. This also helps with multi-Watch users who switch between Watches.
- Ride now shows you total elevation gained and lost on rides, even ones you previously recorded. Ride uses the GPS data your device provides, so isn't always 100% accurate.
- Ride now confirms deletion of rides in Ride for iOS.
- Added an activity indicator when testing IFTTT triggers.
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to tap on the map during a ride and see the last recorded ride's speeds.
Suggestions? Something not working quiet right? Reach out to me on Twitter @RideHelp.
Don't forget you can always leave a tip in the app if you want to support ongoing development.
Thanks!
Kane.

1.2.0
2018-02-17
Hey Riders!
After a short winter hiatus to work on other apps, I'm back with an exciting update to Ride.
Here's what's changed in v1.2.0:
- Added support for IFTTT, which enables cool things like being able to turn off your board at 90% charge if you live at the top of a hill and don't want to charge to 100% to avoid over-charging. If you need assistance setting this up feel free to find me on Twitter @RideHelp or KaneCheshire on Reddit.
- Added support for Boosted Board extended range batteries. Thanks to everyone who helped!
- Adds option to enable or disable sufficient charge and critical charge notifications.
- Sliders can now be configured in 5% increments rather than 10% giving you more control.
- Added a fix for the battery info sometimes showing as 0% when you first connect a board.
- Tweaked the odometer calculation algorithm.
- Fixes a share icon sometimes showing as white when it should be the same colour as text.
Ride is and always will be free to use with absolutely no paywalls, but it does take a significant amount of my time to develop new features. If you want to support future development please consider leaving a tip in the app. Thanks!
Kane.
1.1.1
2017-10-15
Hey, Riders!
Small update to fix a few issues people have reported since v1.1 launched. Thanks everyone!
Here's what's changed in v1.1.1:
- Fixes an issue where the full charged notification could still show 99% charged.
- Fixes map pins flickering when overlapping due to competing draw priorities.
- Fixes battery % truncating in the widget when the board has a long name.
- Better support for Dynamic Type on the iOS ride tracking screen.
If you have a few moments spare I'd really appreciate it if you could leave a short review in the App Store. Safe riding!
1.1

Hey, Riders! Lots of goodies for you in v1.1:
Here's what's new:
- Adds support for all versions of iOS 10 and watchOS 3.
- Ride on watchOS 4 no longer uses Workout APIs to keep the speedometer on screen so it doesn't mess with your activity data, thanks to new APIs in watchOS 4.
- Adds the ability to hide the "connect board" bar for people who aren't using Boosted Boards.
- Ride on iOS can keep your screen unlocked but still turn the screen off in your pocket during a ride.
- You can now add a photo during a ride on iOS.
- Adds a full-screen map that auto-updates that you can view during a ride. The button will appear shortly after you start a ride.
- The ride history map screen now remembers if you pulled the cards down to give you more map space.
- Full support for iPhone X's new edge-to-edge screen.
- Lovely new pin design for the maps.
- Always shows the range circle around your location on the map, even when your board is disconnected. You might have to manually zoom out a bit to see it!
- Sped up the odometer value animation a little.
- You can now access settings from the main map screen.
- Adds a link to Ride in the App Store where you can review Ride if you're feeling lovely.
- Adds support for the following URL schemes:
- ride://connect-board
- ride://board-settings
- ride://start-ride
- ride://end-ride
- ride://tip-jar
- 3D Touch home screen quick actions change from "start ride" to "end ride" while a ride is in progress.
- Your estimated remaining range is now shown in notifications.
- Low GPS signal lines are now orange dashed lines instead of harsh black dashed lines.
- Snapshots of your ride now use a less abbreviated duration format, so it doesn't look like metres when it should be minutes etc.
- You can now see a preview of the ride snapshot and odometer snapshots before sharing them.
- Adds an option to hide pins when sharing ride snapshots.
- The ride stats card design has been neatened up a bit.
- If you have an Apple Watch paired, ride stats will show whether it was tracked on iPhone or Apple Watch.
- Dynamic Type support in many places throughout the iOS app on iOS 11.
- Adds support for "accessibility escape" gestures throughout the app.
- General tweaks to filtering out bad location data which could throw off your ride stats.
- General speed improvements when scrolling through your ride history.
Fixed stuff:
- Those awful artefacts on the map are gone if you're running iOS 11.
- Fixes the charging icon sometimes showing when you launch the app after your board was charging but disconnected.
- Fixes an issue where deleting all rides in your history wouldn't remove the last polyline from the map.
- Fixes an issue where returning to the map screen while a ride stat card is scrolled up would cause the map to animate to the wrong location.
