Finally! There is an app that can let you learn wine tasting with your friends and family while playing a game. Somm Says allows you to compete one-on-one or with friends against real sommeliers to guess what the Somm Says. With more than 800 wine tasting games from 150+ wine professionals, you can have fun with your friends while learning how your palate compares to both your friends and real wine professionals.

Over six rounds of questions about common wine characteristics players attempt to see who knows what the Somm Says. Each round provides instant feedback by comparing your answer to the Sommelier and your friends and shows you what all other players on the platform say about a particular wine.

Each wine tasting game is created by real, practicing Sommeliers in your local community. Their unique tasting notes help power your exploration of both unique and common wines. With Somm Says, you can connect with your local sommeliers and request personal recommendations based on your own unique preferences.

You can:

- Play a digital wine tasting game with your friends to learn wine tasting and improve your wine tasting skill
- Add friends and keep up to date on all your friend's favorite wines
- Request and receive a recommendation from a real sommelier
- Follow your favorite wine shop, sommelier, and wine producer to get notified about new wines

Version 1.12 launches the ability to request and receive personal recommendations from a real sommelier:

- Following a game, you can request a personal recommendation from a real sommelier that reflects your own unique experience and preference for wines.

- Fixed a bug in which players could see all guesses for Guess The Price rather than just the players in their game.

Version 1.10 is a major release that brings the full vision of Somm Says to life. This version focuses on making your friends' experiences more accessible than ever:

- Friends' profile pictures, names, and ratings now appear in the Game Overview, TimeVine, and Wine Details pages.
- When a Friend plays a game they like (Top 25% or Top 10%) rating, you get notified so you can stay in the loop.
- Guess the Price now appears on the Game Summary page to allow you to see how much your friends would expect to pay for the wine.
- Guess the Price is now more reliable and well-integrated with our real-time signaling system.

Update version 1.06 focuses on ease-of-access to the game and wine information, including:

- The Game Overview screen now features Food Pairing recommendations to allow all players to see suggestions without entering the game itself.
- QR codes and game links open the App when installed, allowing users to use their native camera to scan codes that link into the App directly.
- Game Summary now has dynamic text that indicates that the player's ranking will change as additional players finish playing a wine tasting game; additionally, ranking updates dynamically.
- Wine Details title text has been refined based on user feedback along with additional bug fixes and improvements.

1.05 focuses on addressing two UX bugs:

- Search function now works with the Return/Enter key reducing the need for users to select the search button.
- Player's names in the Game Lobby no longer cause their image to be cut off when text wraps to a second line.
- Wine descriptions have been converted to rich text allowing better readability.
- New player game recommendations are now tailored to the level of engagement/interest for a given wine.
- Fixed a bug in which newly created wine games weren't showing complete details on the Wine Details page.

Update 1.04 Focuses on enhancements while playing the game itself, including:

- Each question round now informs the user of the number of other players are waiting to answer this question; additionally, stats for ALL responses for a given wine across our platform are now displayed in real-time.
- After feedback from Sommeliers we have replaced the aroma category of "Smoky" with a broader definition of "Savory," which now includes legacy Smoky responses but also intends to capture the tobacco, leather, meaty, or other hearty aromas found in some of the tastiest wines.
- Feedback now includes the option to display Oak or Tannins based on which of those questions the sommelier chose in creating the game.
- Non-US Phone numbers are no longer allowed.
- To help with refreshing search results, the TimeVine now refreshes when you swipe down on the screen.
- Validation code screen entry field is no longer masked.
- Numerous minor stability and other bug fixes.

Hotfix for SMS-based authentication for new account creation.
- Some users experienced intermittent inability to log in via SMS authentication codes after updates released in build 1.02.

Our focus continues to be addressing user feedback to increase usability and remove minor pain points while we prepare for the ability to add friends and play a "Blind Tasting" mode:

- Search is now subtly improved and redirects the user back to the Games tab to ensure search results are immediately reviewable by the user.
- Following indicators are now synced across each touchpoint in the app to allow users to follow their favorite Sommeliers, Producers, and Wine Businesses more easily.
- Numerous minor bugs and stability enhancements have been addressed on the server-side to improve the experience.
