DROP-O-CLOCK: Introducing a new #Lobby game. For one hour everyday your can create (or destroy) whatever you want in the Lobby. Drops will remain locked in place once the hour is up!

PROFILES: We gave your profile a glow up! Floating collectibles now live in your profile cover.

BIOS: Tell the community about yourself. Tap the top right server settings to edit your bio.

PROFILE SERVERS: your servers and total visits are now displayed on your profile. You can pin your favorite servers to the top of your feed!

ITEM FOLDERS: No more tapping the wrong shader! You can view and equip your shaders and Mojis in profile settings.

JOYSTICK: we added an invisible joystick to help you move around. Swipe and hold the direction to try it out.

DICE: Make games with dice! You can add more sides to your dice by typing the number after the dice emoji.

BUGS: Bugs were destroyed, maybe some were created.

INTRODUCING CUSTOM DROPS

PIXEL EDITOR: create your own custom drops in the 32 bit pixel editor. Tap the "+" located in the "created" section of your drops keyboard.

PAINT FILL: Drag-and-drop colors to quickly fill custom drop areas with color.

SHARE CUSTOM DROPS: share your creations with each other. Long press any drop in your created drops keyboard to view the sharable QR code. Anyone with the QR code/link will be able to use the custom drop.

CUSTOM DROP CARDS: Double tap any custom drop to view the creator, name and how many others have unlocked it.

NEW SHADERS: We're constantly adding new shaders -- Join the community Discord to find out how you can earn them.

PORTALS: Drop a portal by typing the blue cyclone emoji followed by the name of the portal and where it leads to. Only the creator and moderator can see where the portal goes -- use that knowledge to make mazes and "this or that" quizzes!

INTRODUCING SERVER CODES: All servers now have a #code that makes it easier to share with friends. Just tap the share button on the top right of your server and tap the #code to copy it.

Tapping on a #code in text or on a sign will transport you directly to that server! It's a simple system, but we have high hopes for what the community can do with these.

SOUND PERMISSIONS: Creators can now limit who can play sounds in their servers. Tap the server title and then the lock button to change permissions.

We hope this new setting will allow creators and moderators to host certain experiences more effectively.

NEW UPDATE

EMOJIBOARD: The community's most requested feature is finally here—just press the smiley icon and tap to play a sound or drop an emoji.

The emojiboard only shows combinations you've used before (starting from this update) to keep the fun of discovering new sounds and droppables alive.

You can also now play sounds, drop emojis, and mute/unmute while the keyboard or emojiboard is up. Oh, and we've switched the airhorn and mute buttons to feel more natural with the other changes.

HOLIDAY RADIO STATION: Happy Holidays! We have a new Holiday radio station with fresh music and graphics for you all to enjoy this season.

Hey all, we've got a quality of life update this week, with a more exciting one coming up next!

We've improved audio quality and performance across the board while absolutely destroying some cursed bugs.

On top of this, we've made it a lot easier for your friends to get started with Sonar. They can now sign up using Apple, and Rainbow Wallet finally works for everyone.

In addition to this, we've made the entire signup process, tutorial, and tooltips a lot easier to understand, which should translate to fewer new dots bothering you with questions.

Up next: It's getting dicey

You can now run around in Sonar as your Moji in glorious 3D! Just tap on a Moji in your profile to equip.

You can also make your Moji nod or shake its head with a couple of secret gestures.

This is just the beginning. We've got a lot more ways to interact with your Moji planned for the future.

RECORD WITH SOUND: Now, you can make screen recordings inside Sonar while capturing voices and sounds. Just type the movie camera emoji and hit the record button! Other dots inside the server will be notified when you start recording.

BE GONE DOT: You no longer have to read every unread DM to clear the red dot on the DM tab! Just visit the tab once, and it'll disappear.

SAFER SONAR: Not a feature, but we completely reworked our moderation tools and dashboard to empower our Safety team. This should translate to a safer Sonar experience for everyone.

NO MORE HUGE TOASTS: Toasts now have a character limit, so @north can stop crashing your app.

DIRECT MESSAGES ARE HERE

Today is the day. After you update Sonar, you'll notice that DMs have replaced your notifications tab. This has long been one of the most requested features by the community.

To DM someone, just navigate to their profile and hit the Message button! For safety reasons, you'll only be able to DM friends for now.

It's still rough around the edges, but we wanted to give you a chance to try DMs out early. This likely means bugs and some general weirdness. If you run into any issues, slide into our DMs.

Hey all, we have a quick quality of life update this week before we launch DMs:

INVITE FROM SERVER: There's now a handy share button in every server which lets you quickly invite friends.

HAPTICS: We added haptics to the mute icon to make it more obvious when it's on or not. We also added haptics when you drop emojis just for fun.

NOTIFICATIONS: Notifications now have handles to make them easier to swipe away. This is just a quick fix, we have plans for a future version that doesn't cover the top bar.

AND SOME SMALL THINGS:
-You can now tap your own profile picture to take a closer look
-Tapping the chat field will now always place your cursor to the right of any existing text you many have
-Push notification prompts no longer fire every time you start your app.
