Favourite Phrases & Phrase History
• Speak now features ‘favourite’ phrases — simply hold the favourites button (the one with the star on) to add a new phrase.
• Speak also features phrase history which store all the phrases that have been spoken.
Redesigned Voice Picker
• The Voice Picker is now presented in a beautiful, fullscreen view with a blur effect for extra awesomeness.
• Each voice has a sample button so you can quickly hear what each one sounds like.
• Voices are now named, making it easier to distinguish the gender of each one. I strongly recommend that you upgrade to at least iOS 9 as voices are handled more elegantly.
Bunch of New Settings
• Save the text in the input field when the app closes, and load it again when it reopens. Similar settings to save the pitch, rate and voice.
• Stop speaking if the Clear button is pressed mid-sentence.
• Clear the input text once Speak is pressed.
• Volume slider.
General UI Enhancements
• Larger buttons that look nicer and are easier to press.
• Text in the app now respects the user’s Text Size preference. To adjust this, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size.
• Minor tweaks throughout.
Performance & Optimisations
• Optimised for iOS 10.
• Updated to run on all those shiny new iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus devices.
• Squashed those pesky bugs which resulted in poor performance in the Voice Picker.
It is with a hint of sadness that Speak bids farewell to iOS 7 in this update.
