With advances in Apple’s text-to-speech technology, we found a way to create an app which ‘reads’ a script to you, one that knows male from female characters, allowing you to have different voices for men and woman and your leads. An app that doesn’t get bogged down in reading headers, footers, page number, etc.

NOTE

Turning text into speech is rapidly evolving with companies like Apple making huge strides each year to make more realistic voices. Because this app uses Apple voices it means that at the moment it sounds a bit like Siri. Maybe not the best acting, but getting better all the time. We have found it takes about five minutes to get used to the voices and really get into the script, so hang in there, it’s worth it!

Now you already have standard voices installed on your IOS device. They are there for accessibility purposes, but Apple has some great enhanced voices you can download, which are way better than the standard ones. There are instructions in the app on how to download them. We have compiled a table that rates a lot of the IOS voices and it is on the website, so check it out. https://www.talkingscripts.com

We want Talking Scripts to be amazing so we are charging about the cost of a cup of coffee per month if you use it regularly (more than one script per month). If you just listen to a script a month, it is free.
