This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.
Faster response time and sound quality improvements.
The four regulator pairs now may be played on the MIDI channel one higher than the chanter starting on MIDI note 64 (E3).
MIDI notes 64 - 67 on the regulators channel play the regulator pairs. These notes match the mapping for the same baritone/tenor regulators used in the iPad version of the app.
More robust support for using the app as a sound module via CoreMIDI with other MIDI file player apps.

Range of the lowest MIDI note is from 55 to 79.
Drone MIDI channel is 15
MIDI default parameter values are based on the Fagerstrom Scottish Technopipes:
Drone channel: 15
Chanter channel: 1
Lowest Note: 67
MIDI channel and transpose settings are saved on exit.

3.0

Major new feature! You may now play the app chanter sounds using a hardware MIDI chanter like the Fagerstrom Technopipes and other MIDI chanters.
Connect your MIDI chanter first using a hardware MIDI interface, then launch the Uilleann for iPhone app.
On the controls page, set the MIDI channel and bottom-D transpose (relative to MIDI note D = 62) for your MIDI chanter.
Default transpose is -7 for the Fagerstrom on which the bottom note is MIDI note A = 69. For a different hardware chanter, adjust the transpose as required.
MIDI channel and transpose settings are saved on exit.
For the drones, sending any Note On message (Note number < 80) on MIDI Channel 15 from your hardware MIDI chanter will start the drones, and the matching Note Off message for the start note will stop the drones.
Alternately, touch the drone graphic on the iPhone to start/stop the drones.

Added a new additional touch area for the regulators located immediately above the lowest two white keys in the background image. This makes it much easier to play the regulators when playing the lowest chanter keys, particularly the bottom D and low E.
Both the lowest C and C#, or the new background touch area can now be used for playing the regulators.
