The goal of Unsplash is to democratize the access of visuals to everyone. With that in mind, for the past few months, our team has been working hard at making Unsplash reach different communities around the world.
This update is a big step towards that goal, as Unsplash is now available in Spanish. If your device is in Spanish, you don't have to do anything. Otherwise, you can open the Settings app, select Unsplash, then change the Language preference.
Thank you for your continued support.
“As someone from Latin America, I’m really proud to help make that possible not only for people of my own country but also for the diverse people and Spanish-speaking communities all over the world.
Teams around the globe worked together to have relying building blocks for this first language option with the goal, now that it’s complete, of bringing even more languages at a faster pace than we ever could.
We work hard so the visuals you see are a representation of the world we live in. Now you can read, search and interact in a way that represents yourself.”

—— Version 2.8.1 ——

2.7.1

This version ended up being internally nicknamed “the domino”. It started with simply updating the design for the lists of collections. Turned out that for this redesign to be properly implemented, we had to rework many other views that depended on it: the user profile, the lists of photos, and the search results. It was a domino effect.
Why did we have to rework all those views? It’s technical. We started converting the code to SwiftUI a little while ago, and in this case, we had to convert more code than planned to SwiftUI because the old code had a lot of intertwined dependencies, often called “spaghetti code” in the programmers’ world.
We also fixed several issues with the Wallpaper widget, if you add multiple instances with different settings, the app should now open the correct photo.
—— Version 2.7.1 ——
• Fixed a crash when opening the app.

We're making it easier for you to discover more content. When viewing a photo full-screen, you can now scroll down to view related photos.
For the nerds, this update is a milestone on our road to migrating the app to SwiftUI. We started using SwiftUI a while back, but this update brings the biggest changes so far.

Did you create a collection with a typo? Or maybe there’s a temporary collection that you don’t need anymore? With this update, you can now edit and delete your collections.
And for those who have a lot of collections, when you collect a photo, you can now search through your large collection of collections (pun intended) to find the one.
We’ve also made some tweaks to the Stats view, and several more improvements here and there.
—— Version 2.5.1 ——

And finally, we’ve added a little something that we’ll reveal in a future update. Here’s a hint to cut it short: it’s not in the app. Can you find it?

We introduced topics in the app earlier this year, and this time we’re showing them some love.
In the Explore tab, we’ve added the ability to pan left/right to navigate easily between topics, which now have a nice header with a description. We’ve also added a new Topics section in the Contribute tab. And you can submit photos to any topic from both places.
Looking forward to seeing your contributions!

We’re bringing beautiful images and stats to your Home Screen with two elegant widgets.
The Wallpaper widget shows a random photo from a few curated themes. It can be updated daily, every 6 hours, or 3 hours. Tapping the widget opens the photo in the app so that you can download it to use as wallpaper.
The Statistics widget is a convenient way for contributors to keep track of their views and downloads. It defaults to showing the numbers over the last 30 days, but it can be changed to show all-time stats.
