Описание
Vinegar is a Safari extension that replaces the YouTube player with a minimal HTML video tag.
It removes ads, restores picture-in-picture, and keeps videos playing in the background.
Note: The "can read and alter webpages" text in the permission section is just unfortunate wording. Vinegar needs access to the web page to find the YouTube player and replace it. It's not doing anything creepy!
(By the way, check out Vinegar's companion app, Baking Soda. It's basically a less powerful version of Vinegar, but it works on all websites other than YouTube.)

This is an iPhone-only update.
- Reverted the AirPlay-related changes in version 2.4.1.
- Added an option to turn on AirPlay compatibility mode in the settings. When AirPlay compatibility mode is turned on, the 1080p video becomes an AirPlay-able adaptive bitrate stream. The downside is the video quality will be lower initially and go back to 1080p eventually.

Все хорошо, НО…
1) Не работает play/pause при нажатии на наушник AirPods Pro.
2) Не работает play/pause при воспроизведении аудио в заблокированном режиме.
3) Сразу после установки почему-то нужно поиграться с галочкой в настройках, потыкать между «разрешить на всех сайтах» и «спрашивать» иначе не включается.
4) Жаль, что на macOS нельзя настроить на каких сайтах работать, только на всех. Моя паранойя не позволяет оставлять такие расширения 🙂

Отличное расширение!
Все хорошо работает. Только не все видео можно воспроизвести в yotube в 1080.
Просьба исправить, чтоб во всех видео можно было выбрать разрешение 1080, где оно есть.

And another little piece of feedback — please make icon of your app in Launchpad a little bit smaller, to be in line with other extensions like Keys, Hush, Octotree, etc.

На iPhone 13 рекламу скрывает, воспроизводит видео/аудио в фоне при заблокированном экране только при особых условиях. Чтобы видео/аудио воспроизвести в фоне не достаточно просто свернуть safari или заблокировать телефон, необходимо в safari перейти на другую вкладку или создать новую, затем попробовать свернуть safari и затем перейти в другое приложение или заблокировать телефон. Такое себе квест, возможно только у меня так.

Hi! I’ve seen your recommendation to turn this setting off. Unfortunately, as most of the things on that garbage website it keeps turning back on on itself. Could you please come up with an update which allows to turn off video previews once and for all?

Программа хорошо работала, но сегодня 14.03.2023 включился автостарт видео при просмотре ленты независимо где смотришь в главном меню или в подписках. Это ужасно, как выключить???
