WaBu is a private network that helps you find walking buddies in your community. Get ready to socialize and exercise while walking!
Walking is the simplest and most accessible exercise we can do. Its benefits range from physically boosting your immune system, preventing arthritis, diabetes, obesity, to mentally reducing anxiety, loneliness, and preventing memory loss.
AARP describes walking as the greatest addition to your daily routine to boost your health. How does WaBu work? Simple four steps:
1) To start: Sign up with PIN number.
2) To walk: Type in origin, destination or length of the walk, and a brief description of the walk.
3) To Send: Schedule the time of your walk and send it to your network. Your network can be a city, individual community, members of a club, etc.
4) To meet your walking buddy: A group message is automatically created to arrange the meet up between those who clicked "join" on your walk request.
WaBu is protected by a PIN number upon sign up. If you're from NYC, please use PIN code 5001. If you're from another city or would like to create an exclusive network for your community, please contact us at [email protected] for more details.

1. It is easy now to search for your friends and see the full list to send them friend requests.
2. The area within which your walk requests can reach for all your friends or chosen group of them became visible on your map as a circle.
You can zoom in and out to check how many people are near you currently. You can still see your friends on the map till their app sends their new geo position next time (when they are logged in with location on from a different spot).
3. Chats had some bug fixes and now you can use them by tapping on the icon on main screen or getting there from a walk request.
4. By clicking on walk request push notification you are now taken directly to the chat with the person requested it.
5. Geofence fixes - you can register in the app from anywhere. Only people from your university/organization will see you in the list of possible friends and interact with you. Works inside or outside campus.

4. Geofence accuracy: No more "walk request unavailable" when within campus boundaries.
Other fixes:
1. Tapping the logout button was previously taking you to the Map screen instead of the login page (but was actually logging you out). This would result in the user seeing the login page the next time they used the app. It now directs you to the login screen.
2. A chat issue where sending a photo message would cause the table to stop updating with messages from that point on. This is now fixed.
3. The friend's screen wasn’t refreshing after loading the screen for the first time. It is now being refreshed every time the screen is viewed.
4. Resolved duplicate results issue in the walk requests screen.
