Updated wake-up functionality
• Ability to set different wake-up times for each day
• Ability to set multiple wake-up times for each Glow
• Updated 'set wake time' screen that shows when Glow will start waking up and when it will be at it's brightest
• Glow lights that are scheduled to wake up together will show up as a group in the wake-up list view instead of showing up individually.

Bug fixes
• Fixed a reliability issue that required a factory reset in the past.
• Fixed synced wake up behavior interaction among grouped Glows waking up together.
• We handle time zone changes as long as the app connects in the new time zone
• We handle STD/DST changes. We handle this based on the most recent time zone information from the app, but the app does not have to be connected during the cutover.

Natural way to wake up
The Casper Glow light is great, although I do wish it started just a little dimmer upon waking. I resolved this by placing the light further away fro my bed. The light provides a much more gentle waking experience than the traditional alarm. I find that if I am dreaming or in a deeper stage of sleep it will not wake me until I come back into a lighter stage of sleep. This helps met to wake up in a more natural way and leaves me feeling more refreshed and energized throughout the day. The long wake time function on the app aids with that experience.

Although the app is good, it does need some minor improvements. There needs to be an ability to snooze the light (rather than just pausing the current brightness) either via a pop up on your phone or by pushing the pause button on the glow light. The ability to adjust the snooze time would be great too. I would also like to see the option for a longer wake time so that the light stays dimmer for longer upon waking. Lastly, the dimmer functionality for wake and sleep should be separate. Overall the light works great and the app functions well, it just needs a few minor tweaks to make it next level. I would recommend the light if you can get it on sale.
NikkiShines,
Scheduled daily wake-up times please!
My Glow arrived last Monday and I’ve loved it!! It truly has transformed my bedtime ritual. I’ll pick up a physical book and read by the light’s warm glow until it dims off and I feel sleepy. Huge improvement over scrolling for 90 minutes before bed. I am NOT a morning person and this cute little thing has gotten me up on time and in a great mood every day this week! I used to snooze 4-5 times 😱 every morning, and now I hop up ready to go and I’m much more efficient in the mornings because I feel awake.

I was all 5 stars on this thing until today - Saturday - when it woke me up at 5:40am 😑. The morning wake-up time is all or nothing. You cannot differentiate between weekdays and weekends, or schedule different times for different days. Just 5:40am every day (or whichever time you choose), or zero. Or you can trust yourself to remember to turn it on or off every evening before bed, but ain’t nobody got time for that 💃🏼.

Help Casper! I need my weekend beauty sleep!

Doesn’t Quite Behave as Expected
The Glow’s sunset/sunrise is a nice FEATURE, but is overemphasized IMO. Casper really want you to use these as sleep/wake tools but they are also really good smart, portable lamps. But they should A) make them more usable as basic smart lights and B) surface the most common controls.

Suggestions: 1. Allow differentiation between days of the week. Currently the alarm is 7 days a week or nothing! 2. App should ALWAYS be able to control the lights. Once a “sunrise” starts, the lights sometimes become uncontrollable via the app and you can only physically operate them (inconvenient if not at your bedside). 3. IMO the app’s home page (or even Quick Actions) should surface the following to the VERY top and at least optionally override scheduled behavior: on/off, brightness slider, cancel sunrise, and snooze sunrise. Using one’s lights shouldn’t require sub-menus 4) If turning on manually via the app, auto Dimming timer should be opt-in rather than opt-out (ie hitting the “Pause” button). Sometimes I want them on for a few hours. My 2 cents. The hardware is great but it takes some head scratching to understand their behavior; getting them to behave like “normal” lights is hard to achieve as-is.

Great potential, barely customizable
I bought a pair of these and just set them up but sadly this is not the product I was thinking it would be. Luckily it can be fixed if Casper added the necessary ability through the app. Question is how long that will take before I return them.

The biggest and most glaring isssue is that as soon as you turn these on it starts the dimming process unless you pause it. Ideally I just want to have them turn on either manually by flipping it or pushing a button (like a normal bedroom lamp) as well as have a set time to turn on automatically (through the app) and then set a bed time that will start the dimming process. Right now there’s no way to do any of this. If there is then I can’t figure it out and it’s rather disappointing. It seems like you’d want this functionality before you even ship it.

It definitely feels like these changes can be implemented but it’s unclear if that is even in the works. If not then these aren’t right for me and I’ll have to return them and look elsewhere - but I really want these so it’s sad.
JW000,
Good but NEEDS snooze feature!
Casper...great launch product but after weeks of using your app I have the following feature request ideas:
1.) When the Glow alarm light goes off and you have just waken from an amazing sleep on your Casper mattress what is the easiest way to turn off your Casper glow light? Is it to reach over an pick it up and flip it over or would simply hitting the button of the top like most other alarms be the easier action to do when you are still half asleep? I suggest the top button function as an “off alarm” or at the very least a “snooze” alarm function rather than its current “lock brightness setting” at least after an alarm has just gone off.

2.) When used the “wake-up” setting I have encountered some confusion.

The way you currently set the “wake up time” is initially confusing. This is because on most timers when you select a time it is naturally assumed that is when the alarm will go off.

But in your case the time selected is not when it will first come ON but when it has reached full brightness AFTER 30mins.

I understand you mention this with some careful wording on the setup screen but this is still easily missed.

If Casper considers the full brightness your “wake up time” then perhaps having a separate adjustment for the “first rise” time would solve this confusion.

Just some ideas to consider.

Beautiful and amazing launch product!
Upnorthsquad,
Could be much better
Love both the concept and the lights themselves. The app is very basic, and I would love better settings capabilities, if possible. For example, what I don’t like is how bright they are when I flip to turn on before getting into bed (I am usually very tired, and want a soft glow immediately - not bright light)....so every night I need to dial back the intensity of the light....so if there was a way to set a default “start” max light intensity, this wouldn’t be an issue. Also, when I dim the light initially, this only leaves a very short FEW minutes of lightning and dimming from the glow lights.....so it would be great if there was a setting to change the rate at which the lights dim, or a timer you can adjust. To summarize, if the app could allow, I would love to be able to flip the light, and have it be at a pre-determined brightness of my liking, then I would like it to dim down from that start point, for a pre-determined length of time of my liking (for 15 minutes, as an example).
cartergleason,
Very nice to have, but is missing some features
I recently got the glow, and am overall satisfied with the purchase! This is a sleek, minimalist, and well working product, and I'm happy with it, but there are some features that I hope will be added in a future software update.

1- More in depth scheduling
Specifically, the ability to have different wake up times for different days. I wake up at 6 on weekdays, but definitely not on weekends. The light coming on isn't useful on those days and I'd like to see the ability to schedule wake-up times per day. In addition, while flipping the lamp to start the dimming sequence is useful, I like to use it as a regular lamp sometimes too, without the dim. Setting the dim to only work in a certain time period (say, the times you go to sleep) would be very useful.

2- Integration
Currently, the app is the only software based way to control the light, and this is a little limiting. I don't know if it would be a software update thing, but I'd like to see integration with things like IFTTT, HomeKit, and Siri. These would be useful in adding the Glow to a nighttime routine.

Overall, this is a great product! It's modern and pretty cool, and the physical controls are interesting and easy to use. But there some work to be done on the software side. I hope that updates come bringing some more features, making the Glow even better than it already is.
reellyrollin',
Thank you for delivering this amazing product and app.
Right now everything works excellent and I am so grateful to you guys for that, so thank you!

I have a huge request that I hope is actually simple, and I will absolutely come right back to update this review with 5 stars. Beyond widget support which would be pretty cool too... Siri shortcut support - for turning on and off the light and controlling brightness would be incredible. Would be even cooler to adjust alarm times too but that is not even necessary! The ability to tell Siri to turn on and off the light and set brightness through a Siri shortcut would be fantastic.

Stay healthy.
TheBlueOctopi,
Works Well Enough But Needs More
It works well enough functioning off of Bluetooth to turn your lights on or off, update the lights, change levels of brightness, set “alarms”, and pause or unpause the dimming feature. There are a few more things the Glow app should have though, especially in 2021, and the fact that this app hasn’t been updated in over a year makes me worried this companion to a $130 lamp is going to be outdated quickly.
—Integrate with HomeKit and Shortcuts
—Build a widget for faster access to turn lights on/off and pause functionality
—Add ability to change the level of dimming from the app (different from level of brightness that they currently have)
—It’d be nice/would be a cool feature to have a capability to tell it to turn on in conduction/in sync with the natural sunrise
Täu,
Best lights in the world, just a little buggy
I love these lights. They’re exactly what I wanted and they’re so beautiful! It feels like magic using them honestly! My main issue though is they can be a little buggy, especially when paired. Sometimes one will just stop responding altogether. Most of the time though it’s the wiggle or the twist to dim gestures that will stop working and I have to reset or wait a while to get it back. When the gestures do work though they’re super cool and I love them.

Still 5 stars because these are the most innovative lights I’ve ever seen and I want them to get more popular so we can get some good updates

Also I agree with some of the other reviews about having opt-out for the dim timer by default, that would be nice
