Description

Declutter The Mind offers guided meditation for mindfulness, sleep, anxiety, stress, work, and a lot more. In addition, Declutter The Mind offers 30-day courses that will teach you how to meditate, form the habit of a regular practice, and expand your mind through the teachings of mindfulness meditation.

This is all without positioning meditation as something mystical, spiritual, or supernatural for it to work for you. The science already shows that a regular meditation practice improves mental health and happiness. Let our app help you unlock these benefits without attaching it to something woo-woo.

Declutter The Mind offers a practical and easy approach to sitting down and observing the mind. With enough practice, you’ll start to have insights into your mind, how it works, and how busy it is. These insights can make you a calmer, less reactive, and happier person.

WHAT IS MEDITATION
If you want to understand the mind, sit down and observe it. Meditation is using a non-judgemental awareness to notice what thoughts, feelings, and sensations appear in consciousness. It’s about becoming aware of just how busy the mind is, and breaking away from that momentum. Buddhists call this the monkey mind, the mind that’s constantly busy and chattering, sometimes without us even fully noticing it. We can call this clutter, and this app will help you declutter the mind.

HOW IT WORKS
Meditation doesn’t require any special equipment, or crossing your legs in a particular way, or holding your fingers out. You just need a comfortable and quiet spot where you can remain undisturbed for 10 minutes. Once you’ve found your spot, choose the guided meditation that best suits your needs. If you’re unsure where to start, check out the Essentials category to find meditations for beginners. Choose the session, select your length, and follow the guided instructions.

schkotty66,
Declutter the mind
I am a 69 year old retired guy who never in a million years would have considered meditation. I, as we all, have demons. Demons of memories of the past, social media addiction, anger while watching the news. I got to the point of anger and depression. I quit social media and stopped watching the news, a good start but, I still have issues. As we know the mind never stops. Doing the daily meditation gives me a great start to my day, sort of a road map. I still have demons however, declutter gives me the ability to free my mind and wash these thoughts to the curb. I find myself mindful to accepting daily life as it comes and calming my brain when needed. Yes, I am on a much better path now. Meditation is not an addiction but a good way to clear my head. Stuff still happens but I can control how I deal with stuff. I do recommend declutter as a good tool, for everyone.

Bait and switch
App claims to have unguided meditations, but doors not - at least not in free version. Only guided ones in free. I an deleting

UPDATE: Developer responded to my review, advising that the “unguided” meditations were on the “unguided meditations” page. Not exactly. There is only one library page and it is labeled “Guided Meditations.” There are boxes on that page, each one containing various guided meditations. If you scroll down that page (below what you can initially see) you will find a box that looks just like the guided meditations boxes but is named “Unguided meditations.” I suppose that you would find that if you used the app enough, but if you were just looking for unguided meditations, you would not expect to find them on a page labeled “Guided Meditations.” Alas, once you find them they are nothing more than count down watches

The app is aimed just at guided meditations, so perhaps I was too harsh my initial rating of 1 Star. So I am raising it to 3 stars. No higher, due to the issues I discussed above. The app may be fine for guided meditations (I’ve no idea), but if you want unguided ones you should look at an app like Timer. OTOH, I have no idea how good Timer is with guided meditations. ;-)
Elightwood,
I really like & recommend this app
I really like & recommend this app. I signed up for the $7.99/month subscription and am doing the mindfulness & anxiety courses. For the price of a couple of coffees I think it’s a great deal. For me the real value is the detailed, but not overwhelming, instructions. I have been in different meditation settings, but the prompts and guidance are more helpful than I have experienced in most of those. I also enjoy the friendly & deliberate tone of the instructor (Corey?) - it feels as if they are there with you in person. And it has helped me to be consistent with my practice too. It’s been a really positive experience for me and I’ve recommended it to a number of friends. Thank you.
Ellen Sparkles,
I'm really loving this app!
I have meditated for many years and have done mindfulness meditation for about 4 years.

I was exploring additional mindfulness meditations & techniques and came across this app, and it resonated with me. I decided to try it and am really glad that I did.

I have tried several of these meditations and they have ranged from good to really wonderful. The voice, words, and energy are palpably calming and I have been able to relax & meditate easily.

Meditation apps were something I was very opposed to and wouldn't use as I thought it was the very antithesis of meditation.

But I realized at some point that isn't true. It is not technology that is the problem or that causes "monkey mind" and other undesirable states of being & consciousness. Rather, it is how one approaches, views, thinks about, and uses technology that is relevant. Just like almost everything else.

The Declutter app is excellent and it is beneficial just about every time that I utilize it. I highly recommend it whether you are new to mindfulness and/or meditation, or if you are a seasoned meditator.
untethered mind,
A good practice
In this period of the pandemic It’s a particularly good time to recognize how much the emotions of anxiety and restlessness can affect our daily lives. I’m still a novice to this practice and struggle to remain focused on the breath while my mind gallops along but I look forward to this exercise every day and am hopeful to see progress as I continue. I have regularly exercised physically over the years but I have come to recognize that exercising the mind is just as important, possibly even more so. This is a well designed and presented program for me as a beginner and I feel there is enough depth of content to serve my needs for a long time.
EavEric,
Wonderful Introduction to Daily Mindfulness
I am just beginnig to practice mindfulness as a daily practice. Declutter Your Mind's 30 Day Introduction, which asks for 10 minutes a day, is truly helpful. I have read many books on mindfulness and listened to many guided meditations but feel Cory has really simplified the process by bringing down to it fundamental function, which is awareness of our thoughts. I find his voice authentic and his instructions easy to follow. Thank you for this wonderful app. It is truly helping me get started practicing every day.
Elon Tim,
Good app need improvement in design.
When current meditation running you can’t go back on home screen and explore or see other episodes while current one running in background.

Headspace is like once you played then it load full 30 min episode and then whether you are in WiFi or cellular network or break in network it doesn’t stop and continuously run in background for 30 min. So no frustration to hit play again and again if that interrupts due to breaking of network.

There should be a way to keep mediation offline. Because there is no point of running same episode everyday over network. It stress servers and contribute global warming. I know might be less revenue generating but overall helpful for the world.

They can charge $0.99 for premium service with features. Affordable and may be people will buy more subscription rather expensive one less. 99 cents hit buy. 10$ let me think it is worth? Oh wait there may be better service! Oh no it’s not worth 10$ let’s cancel. So why not just 99 cents and bingo done. It’s ok even if something I don’t like but not much expensive and let’s keep it.
Howard finkle iii,
Simple & effective
Being that most other meditation apps come at double the price of this one, I decided to give this one a shot. It’s a simple, no gimmicks meditation app that explains what mindfulness is and how it can affect all aspects of your life. It does this without trying too hard to wow you with their design and fancy courses which, in my opinion, is not anymore beneficial than just regular old mindfulness meditation. There are a good amount of meditation types to choose from for the price you pay and i have been enjoying it now for about a week or so. Very good!
Monet M.,
Good way to start my day
I found myself really down during this whole pandemic and decided to try meditating a few minutes before starting my day. I was having a hard time focusing on my own and have been exploring guided meditations. This app has been great! I really love starting my day with a 10 min relaxation meditation. I also find the look of the app itself to be relaxing. In general we should all dedicate 10 min a day to ourselves but especially with the current pandemic situation this is a great way to take care of your being.
bruhs,
So far, so good!
I was liking to commit myself to a 30-day meditation challenge because I’ve just needed something to calm my mind. Although there was an outtage the day I tried to sign up, I was delighted to get an e-mail explaining why the app wasn’t working! Although there’s a lot of fee-based programs, I’m happy there’s some free resources so that I can test it out. So far, the guided meditations have been great without too much distracting background noise and the voice quality is super clear. Thank you!
