AHPCP,
Unreliable
It’s great to have the features that it offers, but what good does it do IF IT DOESNT WORK THE MAJORITY OF TIME?!? I’ve tried to point this out to our EClinical rep over and over, and all they do is make updates to “fix the bugs”. These inevitably create other “bugs”. The truth behind eClinicals in general, not just the mobile app, is that whatever program base they have is simply flawed from the beginning. It’s horribly programmed. If you could visualize the program represented by a tangible structure, I see it as a Dr Seuss drawing of a complex scaffolding that is thrown together and held together by mismatched materials and temporary fragile repairs. Anything and everything will and does go wrong with it. Perhaps when you signed up with them you were fooled by the nice format of the notes. It gives the misperception that it must be a great EHR. But the very first thing any EHR has to be is RELIABLE, otherwise none of the fancy features account for anything. The EClinical mobile app does not perform reliably enough to even allow you to use it, so you might as well not even have it.
ChuckRN,
Unreliable and useless
Why would any EMR system create a mobile app that doesn't integrate with the desktop version? When a new patient schedules an appointment or requests an appointment, none of that information is visible on the mobile app schedule. Even blocked times don't show up on the schedule. Notification emails generate a link to a desktop version of E clinical mobile, that has zero functionality and requires use of the mobile app on the phone. oh, and don't even get me started on the wasted amount of time spent with the clinical work support team. It seems like they don't have any sort of seamless transition, warm handoff, or understanding of what happens between different components of their EMR. every call is like starting brand new and typically ends up without anything productive happening.
mmuller,
Bad app
So, now I have been using it for a year and it is even worse than I thought. Slow and cumbersome. Constant “click,click,click”- and most of the “clicking” is redundant or unnecessary. Templates are un-usable in current form and not customizable. Program does not allow for using repeated common phrasing with one keystroke. Gotta type everything in over and over. Would not recommend this version of ECW (it is archaic) to my worst enemy.

Very little can be done with the app. Not real helpful. End up having to lug my computer around because app not helpful and to get anything done I have to go to full version. Give it a “zero” in the user friendly category. Only use it because I have to for work.
Adghtv,
Ridiculous
Great when it works, extremely frustrating when it doesn’t. Come to rely on it and out of no where it will just stop working- FOR NO REASON. Worked an hour ago- now it doesn’t. Have to stop your day and spend time making it work again. Trying to see patients but the app wants you to spend time with it instead. Have sworn it off multiple times but always come back because it does help your patients, esp adding photos to chart. Pretty much like all EMRs- we are here to service the EMR not patients and our time doesn’t matter.
….. Follow up - I tried to use Aggravated as nickname for this post but it was already taken!! I tied multiple use misspellings but they were taken too- as well as other negative words so I used positives words- still didn’t work- I’ll try none sense words- nope still didnt work so I’ll try positive works for title.
McSomething,
Terrible implementation of a terrible EMR
This software is absolutely terrible. If your Health system is thinking about using e clinical works, please steer them away!
It has taking me half the day just to login to this mobile app because of poor password implementation. (Passwords are not the same across platforms, and when you change the password in the desktop version, it takes 15 minutes… Yes 15 minutes before you can log into the mobile app !??!? Really???).
Functionality is exceedingly limited (although I was able to perform a phone note documentation via the phone.) and the user interface has terrible implementation and is completely non-intuitive. It certainly wasn’t designed by anybody who works in healthcare. Bottom line…find a better product..this one is bottom of the barrel.
yulaik1,
5% works and 95% do not work
This is my first review on any app ever, but considering that we pay big money for this program and app, maybe someone who works on this company decides to do the job right.

The 5% of the time that works it does the job very well but sadly 95% of the time does not work. Even after updates is never reliable.
-How a company that makes good money from several medical practices is not able to get this app to work and be reliable? Why do they pay for a mediocre job… somebody is not doing the job right and should not be in the company tech team… I will remove all the tech team assigned to the app development and start over again with fresh brains and tech team, plenty of good talents out there for a better price than the current mediocre behind this app.
Just my 2 cents. Thank you
RichWMartin,
Such a nice surprise
This is a no-added cost component to the continuously improving Eclinicalworks electronic medical record. We are in our 10th year now of using Eclinicalworks and have found incremental improvement in the portal, messenger and interoperability. V10 web-based version refreshes the interface and adds some new useful features.

This mobile app works well and is a big help on call to review diagnosis, lab history and make a new phone encounter. I reviewed labs waiting at the dentist yesterday.

There is a lot of pressure to switch to Epic from large health systems - but ECW continues to compete for our business as independent practices. This Ap is a good enhancement.
TDR MD,
eClinicalMobile
“ Like father like son.”

eCW has done it again. Daddy has a total lack of any logic, ditto for sonny.

Why is it that we can not simply answer a phone and press “send?” What sense does it make to use a “ save” button to send a message?

It is hard to believe that this company has managed to cook so many so many flaws into their software that they claim to be unable to fix.
A couple of examples:

1. You can not use a simple hyphen! We use this little piece of punctuation repeatedly during the course of writing/dictating notes on a daily basis. This is an absolute absurdity!
2. When filling out a prescription on “ Big Daddy” and entering the # , the quantity disappears at last half the time. What kind of bone headed screw up is that !? Absolute nonsense!
3. Why are there at least 3 different medication lists and yet only one of those can be used to manage the medications?

Did eCW even remotely consider having endusers try this unwieldy excuse for a piece of equipment that is supposed to make our lives more streamlined and efficient. My recommendation is that eCW Pay those of us that were duped into purchasing this misery generating excuse for an EHR.
liladami,
Marginally better than online
eCW is a worksheet based EMR with no useful interoperability. It is clunky, slow and obsolete at best.
The app had the potential to be better, but frankly is almost as frustrating. Using it reminds me of dialup AOL. The IT folks at the company spend their days clicking around a computer/phone screen and design their products so that is what anyone unfortunate enough to be forced to use them does, too. Save your money and look at ElationHealth.
Would be infinitely more user friendly if one could prep the online chart (as one often does) with Assessment already completed and dictate the plan from that list. Instead the system forces a selection of icd10 codes EVERY TIME. despite the fact that the codes are ALREADY selected in the Problem List.
Are there ANY clinical people working with this company??
erljo,
Bad app
I’m glad to read that it’s not just me having issues with this app. I’m trying to link another practice but there is no option for me to do so. Seniors, especially, I’m sure are having difficulties with this new system, using for med appointments, medication refills, test results, etc. to find out info on your own. The program that’s so unreliable, why do doctors keep using it? I downloaded the healow app, well it did not save the icon by itself. Every time you need it opens on iCloud where you can just “OPEN” the app. This app is so ridiculous I wasted so much time trying to figure it out. All in all, this app is not a reliable recommendation for doctors to use. I hope someone is listening or reading all the reviews here.
