Description

Reliable and easy to use pedometer with GPS route mapping. iSteps GPS Pedometer keeps track of your daily steps and calories burned. The app also maps and stores all your walks for later view.

• Runs in the background allowing you to lock your phone or use other apps while walking
• Finds and shows your position and route on a map
• Maps and stores all your walks for later view
• Keeps track of number of steps, calories burned, distance walked and walking speed
• Choose “Daily Totals Tracking” to record all your steps during the day

iSteps GPS Pedometer is a fun way to help you promote your physical activity. For long-term health it is recommended that we take approx. 10,000 steps a day. For successful weight loss, daily steps should amount to 12,000-15,000.

To get started using iSteps, set up your personal profile by entering your height in cm or inches, your weight in lbs or kg, and choose how you want your results displayed, either in kcal or kJ and distance in miles or km. Then press the START button and you are ready to GO!

We recommend that you wear your iPhone or iPod touch by your waist or in your pocket, but you may need to experiment a bit to find the best location for optimal accuracy.

Please note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. With the option to turn off “Daily Totals Tracking”, you can save battery when needed.

Lindaop,
iStep GPD Pedometer
I used this app once. Although this is an easy app to use, the "Map" icon did not show my route, and the "Distance" and "Time" icons did not record accurate information. I'm hoping the number of steps recorded is accurate. I'll continue to use it for now.
Quad quad,
Simple elegance
With the iOS 8 health app recording all steps all the time, this is a terrific way to select specific walks for saving and tracking: "Start new walk" at the beginning and "end walk" at the end. The number of steps, start and end times, time taken and calories used are reported, and the path taken is shown on a map/satellite image. Other apps do this, but what I really appreciate about iSteps is the design and interface; sometimes less is more and the simple elegance of this app is exemplary.
WLS55,
Fairly good, needs a little work
I agree with the others - it seems pretty accurate regarding step count and distance. I have tried it at the health club to compare it to the distance on our walking/running track, and it is pretty good. However, I am also frustrated that it won't work in the background, stops if you access your iPod or answer a phone call, and stops sometimes for no reason that I can determine. I must bump the display somehow. I have also found that it does not work well when held in your hand. Clipped to a belt or in a pocket work fine for me, but held in my hand it undercounts by about 40%.
Aubie31,
Do not purchase this app
I purchased this app to help me monitor the number of steps, distance, time and route of my walks. The app did not accurately map the steps and distance...giving my a small fraction of steps and half the distance walked. I would not recommend this app until these bugs are fixed.
brojulie,
Horrible App!
This did not record steps accurately. I finally counted steps myself during a 2 mile walk and compared every 200 to 300 steps. It recorded about 25 steps to my 100 steps and was only after attaching my phone to my leg! It recorded even more inaccurately in my pocket! Do NOT buy this.
Hatchk,
Disappointed
Don't bother buying. Didn't accurately record anything. Didn't even come close! Wish I had read the reviews first!!
Dg37,
Ped apps aren't so great until....
Until they figure out how to let it run in the background. It is fairly accurate, but if you go back to your iPod app, or answer a phone call, it will stop your count. Also, they should make the start -stop a slider so if u reach into your pocket to check your progress, you don't accidently turn it off.
PLEASE figure out a way to LET IT RUN IN THE BACKGROUND! Your almost there.
Also, if you could make time and distance a larger font so I don't have to put ok my glasses, that would be cool...
Needs the Workout,
Does What It Promises to Do
This app is well worth the price. It tracks your walking by the number of steps, the time of your walk, distance and calories expended. I just started a walking program and I need all the motivation I can get.

I have a small issue. Once while checking my progress mid-walk, I may have unintentionally stopped the counter. I'm not sure if this was my fault or the app's fault, but it was annoying.

It works if you are holding the phone during your walk, or if you keep it in your pocket. Overall, great application!
Doran Thompson,
App Reads Well
This application reads well however as many have pointed out this app stops and fails to provide correct information. I checked the application as I walked out the door working fine after about one hour I checked and in had stopped working. Restarted for the next hour and it worked ok but the total walk was on logged in part. I will take this off my phone and kiss the $1.99 good bye, to bad there is no way for a refund? I know it is petty but hate to pay for something that does not work completely!!!!
Dragland,
Loved it
Great app. Use it all the time. Doesn't seem to work with the new Apple upgrade. Hope that is fixed soon. I am missing this app.
