The app is an at-home personal trainer for the price of a gym membership
I’m a paid subscriber and have been for almost a year and a half. This app is worth every penny. The plans feature is my favorite. It’s nice to get workout plans that continually challenge me and I don’t have to think about progressive overload or which body part to focus on. The app keeps upping the ante and rotating its focus on each body part. The plans I do also mix up the style of exercises right on time. Right when I’m tired doing muscle building exercises, it switches me over to a cardio focus. Then for whatever reason I feel energized and confident that I can do it since it’s different.

The app is basically a personal trainer for the price of a gym membership. Keep up the great work!

One critique: I’m up to the advanced exercises now so now many of the plans ask me to workout 5 days a week. 4 is my limit though. I don’t have time for 5 each week, so it would be nice if I could manually control how many days you work out regardless of your difficulty level. I’m assuming that you can’t though because the plans are pre-created by the Madbarz team which means they are the same for everyone. I would find even more value if it generated plans specifically from my history using the app and allowed control over how many times per week.

I love this app
Madbarz has great workouts and a great community. The developer reaches out to the user base every so often to ask for feed back and they listen.
They have a huge list of free workouts they still let you keep track of your progress and you still part of the community that encourages you to work out more. I upgraded to the membership version. They have a good menu to suggest what to eat and training plans and schedules with reminders to workout with option like slim down or build muscle.
I love the app yes it might have a bug or 2 but they fix them quick and the app is great free or paid.

Much Better
I’ve been using this app for two years and recently went to premium. This app has had its ups and downs but it’s all starting to iron out and become the highest quality fitness app I know. Here are some pros and cons.

Pros:
•Awesome calisthenics workouts
•Great supportive workout community
•Ability to customize your own workouts
•Gives you structure to your workout
•Works well with back ground music
•NO MORE BUGS *at the moment* !!!
•Good workout programs and meal recipes for premium users
•Ability to save other people’s workouts

Cons:
•Some more advanced techniques are not on the app
•The meals (although they are good) are quite limited. Would love to see more added in
•Although you can see muscle activation, you can’t see how much each muscle is used
•IMPORTANT - Programs almost all lack equipment. All except the Street Workout program and the Muscle Up program use no equipment. I would love to see the advance programs implement the pull up bar, parallel dip bar, etc more into the workouts.

Possible improvements:
•More use of equipment in advanced programs
•More meals
•Show how much each muscle is activated

Canceled my gym membership!!
I love this app! I was very hesitant on canceling my gym membership for an app, to help me get fit lol. I would have to say it was totally worth it. I am see results after a month and enjoy the fact the the workouts are consistently changing. They gym became boring to me after going for over 7 years and I wasn’t seeing any changes in my physique. I am saving a ton of money every month and am excited about working out again. Customer service is quick to respond too (within 24hrs)

Good app but Apple health integration not working
So far I’m really liking this app. Mainly rating it 4/5 because the apple health won’t work with the app, (at least for me) I’m not sure if it’s a setting in my phone that’s not letting it sync or if it’s just broken within the app.

The workouts are pretty good so far, I do like the timer function but I do wish on the warm up and cool down portion there was a function to start manually for each warm up and cool down, so your able to get ready.

Like the concept, but needs a lot of work
The concept of Madbarz is great. Workouts and plans that help people track their progress and achieve their goals.

However, the app falls short in many ways. The most frustrating part to me is that your phone needs to be open the entire time you’re completing a workout. This is a massive flaw. The timer should be actively counting even when the phone is locked or you’re using another app.

Additionally, I don’t like that you have to walk through the workout move by move without being able to see the workout as a whole (you should be able to navigate around the app while the workout is still going).

Lastly, why a 5 second rest and a 5 second countdown? You should be able to move from move to move with absolutely no rest. It’s frustrating clicking your way through a workout and feeling like it’s slowing you down.

Again, I like the concept, but if you’re charging a monthly fee, you really need to improve the app experience.

Interface not as good as before, still great workouts
Great workouts, but the overall layout is messier with the new design.
Would like to see all week’s workouts in the page, not need to scroll left right. Needs to have again general settings, so you could turn off warm-up for all workouts all together. Way too many whistles and flashing metrics.
Do like the three-day count down from last workout.

A great app
This app is great, easy to use, fun, motivated, I love that you can interact with other people who are also using it. Their are only three small problems that I have with this app: 1. I wish ALL the exercises had the “on time” function. 2. I can’t seem to find a way to reduce the time between exercises to “0” so you can go from one to other with no rest.

Favorite exercise app but strongly disappointed
I’ve been using this app for over 3 years now. The running exercise needs to include the ability to set a duration by distance in addition to being able to set a duration by seconds. I’ve been asking for this feature for as long as I’ve been using the app. I love this app but this has gotten to the point of being ridiculous. I used to recommend Madbarz to people all the time, but I won’t be recommending it to anyone until this feature is added.

Setting up the app is awful
When you first download and start setting up your account, it makes you choose your “size” and gives the options: “regular”, “flabby,” and “extra”. The pictures next to each of the words is a picture of a thin woman’s abdomen, a BARELY thicker photoshopped abdomen, and one more hardly bigger (and still photoshopped) abdomen, respectively. I was shocked that an app promoting health and fitness would pair these pictures with such words. It’s blatantly disrespectful and triggering for many. Fitness is for all. Do better.
