Description

Audibly is an offline music player and wireless surround sound system for iOS devices. To add music, copy music files, like m4a, wav, and mp3, through the built-in file manager. Then Audibly will automatically sort through all the files and organize a new music library.

Audibly has an accurate syncing engine, making a crystal clear listening experience. There is also a sync button, which can be pressed to make the sync even more accurate.

Also, you can connect up to 8 (possibly more...) iOS devices over WiFi and use them as wireless, surround sound speakers. Audibly has a system to keep the devices' music in sync. Place all the iOS devices around a large room, turn up the volume, and enjoy the music.

Features:
• File manager to transfer music files
• Create a playlist of songs from your own library
• Control the volume across all the devices
• Automatically organizes music files into a library
• Music kept in sync as you listen
• Favorite what’s playing to come back to it later
• No Internet connection required*
• Advanced customizable settings
• Equalizer and presets
• Additional Audio Effects
• Stereo Audio Channels
• Spatial Audio Device Layout
• Choose a color theme

* Music can be streamed over Peer-to-Peer Wi-Fi on newer, supported devices, anywhere you are without an Internet connection. Devices can also connect over a Wi-Fi network.

M A 4,
Neat idea but flawed
Not iPad-native (but does run).

Sync is off, although close-ish. OK for having music in separate rooms, where you can't really hear multiple devices well at once. (Maybe mic could be used to correct?)

Only plays local downloads, yet shows your whole cloud library that can't be played--you have to sift through masses of songs that don't work to find the local ones that do. They shouldn't be shown.

Makes you turn off Bluetooth instead of simply not using it. Big problem for users of Apple Watch, Bluetooth keyboards, etc.

On the bright side, it's a neat idea and very easy to use. Looking forward to any future developments, although it has been a few years.
AuronPolo,
Love it
Ever since Seedio was shelved years ago I’ve been hoping for a replacement and this app doesn’t disappoint. One thing though, the synchronicity feature needs to be able to negative for me to use it to it’s best. Other than that and some minor teething troubles it’s golden.
Ogxydoxjjjjjjjjjjj,
Could be amazing.
This is an awesome idea, and I'd very much like to have the app to use! The interface is simple and effective, and it all looks wonderful. Yet there are absolutely things that could be improved.
Of course, I'm sure the synchronization is very hard to perfect in terms of software, but the fact remains that syncing the music is pretty much the biggest part of this app/concept. When I tried it out between my iPod and iPhone (former broadcasting, latter listening) it sounded as though the iPhone was playing the music a little slower than the iPod. The beats seemed different, thus there was a slight delay (which I suppose could be acceptable, though frustrating as all hell).
If this could somehow be remedied I'll be forcing the app in my friends' faces right away!
tzachyb,
Superb, add features-for-pay.
This application is amazing, should be part of the OS! Please add settings to enable auto-accept of listen requests (or those manually accepted previously). Also fix lag in switching between albums to songs or playlist.

Then, create pro version, charge $2-$3 for it, and make it free for a time via AppAdvice or Apple weekly app as a means to get folks to know of this gem.

You probably thinking it may not be worth effort. That's where kickstart could be used to test reception and fund resources (as well as get more publicity).

Pro would include some or all of following:
- broadcast of voice memos
- broadcast of videos
- chromecast support
- broadcast across Internet (distance synchronized parties!)
- live broadcasting (microphone and possibly camera)
- synchronize playing with no streaming when both devices have the same song locally.
- auto-download from Apple match
- Bluetooth and/or that near area standard
RRabbit2012,
Make it Even Greater... Add Left and Right Channel selection
Just downloaded and this is fantastic to share audio streams from stored music to nearby iDevices. Worked flawlessly. Any way to send or play just the right or left audio channels? Connect powered speakers to iPhones or iPads and select which channel to play. Imagine Instant stereo at the beach, pool party, etc. It's the channel separation that makes music pop. Stereo at any distance with no wires. I think it would make Audibly a Killer App!
Mcnibblet,
Has potential but buggy
This is an interesting app but falls short in a few critical ways. First, it can be hard to connect more than one listener. Sometime the second device will say "connecting" forever with out actually succeeding. Other times it will succeed but only after the track changes. At one time both listening devices were "connecting" and nothing but a full restart of the apps on all devices allowed any listener to connect. There are a lot of bugs to fix in this app still. It's good for novelty but is not ready for real use yet.
chrisgalz,
Wow
I sat alone all those cold nights with no way of listening to my favorite tunes until Audibly changed my life. It linked up all my devices and made my music audible again!

Or maybe that never happened, and this is just so good of an app that it distorted my reality...

If you use this app, there will be a good time ahead.
Matt7878,
Great, just needs more features
This is a great app that works better than many of its competitors. But you should be able to play Apple Music songs through it and also should be able to play through a Bluetooth speaker. Just some thoughts.
jo.music.pandas,
Awesome Idea!😃
Although it's an awesome and creative idea, it just needs to be able to connect to an aux channel for example. Also, if we can get more people to download the app than it's easier to find devices to broadcast music.😊
slappysam,
Great...in theory
Was pumped to read about this app on tech crunch today, but said pump was quickly deflated when I went to use the app.

First, it only works with iTunes (fail).

Second, it pulls in your ENTIRE iTunes library but only allows you play songs that are locally stored meaning out of 1,000s of songs in your library you need to know EXACTLY which songs are stored locally on your phone. (Fail)

And finally, when you DO find a song and share it, THE SYNC IS OFF! Why would I want to play music on more than one device if there's a delay?!?!?!?

HOW DID THEY KNOWINGLY SHIP THIS PRODUCT WITH APPARENT UX FAILURES?!?

Here's to hoping a later release fixes this, but shame on them for shipping a product that doesn't work the way it really should.
