Description
My Mom moved into assisted living when she turned 90. She had stopped using email for many reasons.
Her glaucoma made her need text to be huge in order to be readable. When the text was large enough, scrollbars and other controls would wind up off screen.
Web browsers kept popping up ads and such that confused her. Spam emails were becoming hard to recognize as such.
Scammers were trying to take advantage of her, including getting her contact information like email, passwords, and bank account info.
When I moved her to assisted living, I bought her a Facebook Portal so we could video chat, and a digital photo frame I could email pictures to that would become part of a slide show for her.
What we couldn't do was shoot her a text message. I bought her a used iPad for $150 and built this app with the goal of matching its capabilities to hers.
