ZacSz,
Good game in sore need of five-second undo, or something.
High rise is an immensely engaging puzzle game. I love that even after dozens of rounds, I am still discovering new rules and combinations and strategies. It has been very satisfying watching my high score slowly improve, and always fun to try and beat my current best. I also appreciate the ease at which this game functions as either a 15 minute puzzler or 3-hour logic gauntlet (slight exaggeration) depending on personal preference.

One of my few complaints is a big one, though, as it’s an accessibility problem. Too many times my game has been ruined by accidentally placing a stray block while rotating the view. I am disabled and my fingers are twitchy and clumsy. When you’re getting deep, it’s always a game ending error and it’s altogether too easy for it to happen. An undo button on a VERY short timer—or any other mechanism to help address an accidental-tap placement, I’m not a game designer— would be a massive improvement.

3.5 rounded to 4.

Fantastic puzzle game, with minor flaws
This has quickly become my new favorite puzzle game on my phone. It's a nice new spin on the match and merge concept that's so popular. It's one of those games that's easy to start and difficult to master. Thankfully, there is a tutorial that teaches the basics, as well as a few advanced techniques that'll boost your score quickly.

There are a few quirks with the game that keep this from being perfect. Like everyone has said, the blue and green tiles look too similar, so some better contrast can fix that. One issue I ran into is the tower-clearing power up. It's a useful one, yes, but in the rare event that the board is filled up and the next item is that power up, it just ends the game without me being able to use it. If that can be modified in a future version, I'd greatly appreciate it.

But those are ultimately minor issues with an otherwise enjoyable game. And it's free to boot, so that's an instant plus. If you want something to keep you busy, try this out.
musukosan,
Simple and engaging
This is my new favorite puzzle game. Takes a couple tries to get the hang of it (I had to go through the tutorial a couple of times), but it’s worth it. At first, I thought the goal was to get the highest tower possible, so I would not use the “remove” feature on my high towers. But I realized you don’t lose points for removing them and it really helps to free up space. Once I figured that out, it really helped the game going.

Three things I would recommend to the developer.

1) It would be good to expand the tutorial a bit to explain how multiple color blocks work. It took me awhile to figure out that colors only merge if they are at the same level.

2) It would be great to have an immediate undo button for the last block you dropped. I can’t tell you how many time I accidentally tapped the wrong square and placed the block in the wrong spot. Maybe even have a timer on the button of a couple seconds. That way the user can’t undo because after thinking about where to place the next block, they realize they want to undo the block they just placed. Should/could be for “oops!” moments only.

3) The last thing, and I don’t if it’s just me. But I often place a block down thinking the color is actually the NEXT block. Not the current one. Maybe if there was a box or something around the current block to help make it stand out.
JimJohnMarks,
A great start
Brilliant concept and well executed. The music is nicely composed, but a longer loop would be a nice touch (drop me a line, I’ll produce one for you). The aesthetic is strong as well and fits the mood of the game to keep the whole thing not stressful.

A few gentle critiques:

1) the blue and green look quite similar at some camera angles, if the green were darker it would help

2) infinite undo would ruin the game, but some economy to earn the occasional option to help when one simply clicks the wrong square would enhance the game

3) some of the more complex combination algorithms can leave you in an undesirable position you didn’t/couldn’t predict and would have avoided if you’d known. Even with the comprehensive “how to” it isn’t always clear what’s about to happen or why

4) don’t mind ads in exchange for free games but (a) many of them don’t actually ever let you get back to the game and you have to close and relaunch to keep playing and (b) the clickbait political stuff is inappropriate (if you have control over what ads actually run, please remove those in favor of something better)

Otherwise quite happy with this

Best Puzzle Game - No Lie
I have been coming back to this game several times and always thoroughly enjoy it like when I first bought it. I am addicted to this game. My highest score was over 4000 and another time I reached a level 7 building! This game is extremely polished, high high high replay ability. Simple to learn and fun to get better and advance! I really hope you can make a sequel to this game. One way the game can get better is if there were a multiplayer where you simultaneously build against an opponent and every time one gets a the tallest building taller, a random 1-piece block will be added to the opponents city! See who can get the most points or the tallest building! Either against a person or against a bot. I just absolutely love this game for its succinct size, and all I mentioned above. Thank you for this game!
URBDS,
Love it. (…with a few suggestions)
Perfect game for a frustration-free casual playing. I really enjoy the aesthetics and the navigation. Very well implemented. My only complaint is that my phone warms up very quickly - within a few minutes - to the point that the display dims automatically. I also have a few suggestions. None of these are obviously needed. They are just to improve replayability. - Perhaps a few board sizes? Or a customizable x,y size? - A perspective view toggle/option? - Customizable color schemes? - Customizable number of colors? (3,4, and 5, perhaps?) - In addition to the current “remove building” every 500 pts., maybe other Random actions, such as delete one level, or color-specific removal? - Additional building decorations. Even for the one-level blocks. Excellent job, though!
skoskie,
Large learning curve. Worth it.
This is NOT a simple game. There’s a lot of complex rules that dictate movement, just like chess. You’ll spend some time getting beaten by those rules before you can even begin to strategize, which will present you with a whole new level of game play. And then you’ll realize your strategy is kindergarten level thinking. Pretty soon you’ll find yourself coming up with strategies in your mind as you go about your day. At that point, your games could take several hours (nights) to complete, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth.

If you like puzzles, and have the patience to learn the rules, you’ll be rewarded.
Amir-tawfik,
Simply Perfect! but wishes for one more option
Comparing to other games now this game is out standing, its Fun, challenging, brain practice, feels good, not to waist your time on Ads or ransom on your money, its just for simply fun sake.
Also IMO i believe that the tutorial hints are just about enough. Its better to find more advanced techniques on your own.

Saying all that I still need an UNDO option folks!
Sometimes i get confused between current block and next block so i misplace it. In more other times i touch the screen by mistake and yep! it just place a block in the middle of NO F Way! with no turning back. So Most of the time i have to restart.
Singlebit,
Great Game, Great Developer Responsiveness to Customers
Liked the concept of this game right away, and logged a fair number of hours. Good puzzle game, low stress but still challenging, and good support for ads and no ads.

But one of the things that really stands out to me as a positive is the care the developers take in making the game experience good. An earlier version of the game had some bugs that negatively impacted game-play, and a number of people (including myself), logged bugs in the review. The programmers took the feedback seriously and made fixes, following up with the reviewers like myself to let them know when fixes were in.

Great game, and solid pride of ownership by the developers.
Jannekemarijn,
So much fun! Some small annoyances.
I thoroughly enjoy playing this game and I can highly recommend it!

Possible improvements:

1. The two blues (or teal and blue?) are a lot alike. Especially in a more dark environment they're hard to distinguish.
2. I want to be able to save the game! I've been in situations where I've had to close the game, only to come back and realize that my progress was lost. Once you get the hang of this game, you can spend a lot of time in one 'city'.
3. Sometimes it's hard or even impossible to place a block on a square. I've had to give up on one game because of this.
4. This is going to sound weird, but for some reason my mind always thinks that the second next block is the next block. So I think I'll be placing a yellow block, but then I place a red block. Maybe this can be made more clear? It also relates to my next point:
5. Can we have one undo per placement? Sometimes you accidentally tap the wrong square ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (or think you're placing a block of a different color... or maybe that's just me)
