The Sámi Parliament would like all children in day-care and elementary school to be familiar with and learn some words in the Sámi languages. The Sámi Parliament has now developed an application that will allow day-care children and elementary school children to learn 10 or 20 words of Sámi languages. The words are in South, Lule and North Sámi and the app also contains audio files and illustrations that can be helpful for pronunciation as well as visual expression. In addition to the 10 or 20 words, the application can also teach numbers, colours, days of the week and two children's songs. The application can also be used by Sámi-speaking children who would like to learn other Sámi languages.
