4.1
2018-09-23
This is a wee update to bring support for iOS 12 and the various new iPhone X models.
Don't forget all the Version 4.0 updates:
* The interface gets a cleaner look. Simply slide the pointers on the distance scale or the blur diameter scale to set inputs (the old slider “thumbs” are now gone). Note that you do not need to keep your finger on a pointer as you slide it — you can move your finger to the side as you slide, all the better to see where the pointer is pointing.
The pointers themselves also display digital readouts.
A warning is now displayed if your inputs are such that an excessively large number of shots would need to be taken (“excessively large” is defined in this app as >10).
Enjoy!

The interface gets a cleaner look. Simply slide the pointers on the distance scale to set distances (the old slider “thumbs” are now gone). Note that you do not need to keep your finger on a pointer as you slide it — you can move your finger to the side, all the better to see where the pointer is pointing.
The pointers themselves also display numerical readouts of distance. The slider for selecting blur size gets a similar treatment, including a numerical readout of image blur.
A warning is now displayed if your inputs are such that an excessively large number of shots would need to be taken (“excessively large” is defined in this app as >10).
There are all manner of minor changes, including a more punchy colour scheme.

A more pleasant colour scheme, plus several small interface tweaks.
Of course, all the new features of the last major upgrade are still there:
• The slider for setting how sharp you want your image to be is now on the main screen.
• Assistance is provided in setting reasonable upper and lower limits for image blur.
• A visual indicator of these limits is shown on the main screen.
• Distance units are changed directly on the main screen by tapping the m / ft button.
• Three different distance scales are provided.
• Labels can be hidden, for a cleaner interface.
• Several info (help) buttons have been added.
And there are lots of other, smaller improvements.
Oh, and there's a new icon, and the file size is much smaller.
Enjoy!

If you’re using focus stacking for landscape photography, and using FocusStacker to get the best possible results, you’re at the cutting edge in photography. Or so you thought! Now, if you’re adventurous, you can take things even further: How about trying focus stacking in infrared photography? For infrared (or ultraviolet) work, the facility to specify wavelength, as recently introduced to the OptimumCS-Pro and TrueDoF-Pro apps, has been added to FocusStacker.

iOS 7 compatibility.
Also...
Changed the action of the focal length scroll wheel:
- The scroll wheel now responds much faster when you tap the focal length “Up” and “Down” buttons.
- Scrolling now results in real-time update of outputs (rather than having to wait till the wheel settles on your final choice of focal length).
- The wheel no longer free rotates after you stop pushing it.
