Flank and charge with friends! Simple, fun and rich with tactical options. Musket Smoke is a turn-based, war game with an unusually interactive UI allowing for enormous tactical options.  Smoke, artillery, cavalry charges, morale and flanking.  It’s all here and dead simple to play.

Musket Smoke is a tactical online turn based war game. It supports both single player and multi player but the competitive asynchronous matches are the primary focus.

The board game design was 'inspired by' Napoleonic warfare but streamlines it to be fast and furious, optimized for online play.  This is a ‘people first’ war game with a focus on usability and visually rich tactical options.

Time to shake things up!
• Range 1 grapeshot. This will improve offensive play and balance defensive responsibilities across units.

Dramatic campaign changes:
• The player that falls back no longer gets an SF unit reward. Both sides still get SF rewards if the battle is completed.
• All Pike units lose 1 confidence. Regular troops can optionally offset this with a Rally.
• Artillery Run battle has changed. No more race, some trees added.

OTHER:
• Free purple hearts for everyone!

Note:
• Manual and docs will be updated in another update after our community decides if these dramatic new rules and changes are good. If all goes well the next update could just be a new Mini Map and updated docs.

We flanked and stomped more bugs! Blasted em good with grape shot and then trampled them into crispy little gore piles with our cavalry.

• Roster now resets upon hit default.
• Initial leaderboard scores are no longer zeros.
• Nobody should be moving your units anymore!

The 1.5 mega update was so big that it needed it's own update!

• Fixed LOS issues with full replay (i.e.: no more seeing what you shouldn’t).
• LOS now hides stuff when a unit is killed in a replay.
• Map names (when loading) now have a shadow to better contrast with backgrounds.
• Removed auto-run-match-from-lock-screen feature. It had issues.
• Match state (‘play’, ‘wait’) is now checked on the fly when you open a match.
• Fixed the rare ‘no moves sent’ bug.  Added emergency fail-safe regardless.

• Instant preview damage (see how much damage you will cause before you attack).
• Leaderboards for win counts and pie counts.
• New pie ranking system that ties in with name rank achievement titles.
• Top ELO like scoring leaderboards for competitive (random only) matches.
• Info/top-bar extension (with live context info).
• Double tap map to show/hide full screen mode.
• Campaign SF Units now have visual distinction.
• Rematch button (rematches friend or random ELO games).
• Matches now start RANDOMLY on LEFT or RIGHT side (for Mini Matches only).
• New "NEXT button", goes directly to playable next battle - bypassing the games list.

An underrated wargame.
I really enjoyed the game. It could have been better, that’s true, but there’s almost no competition on the market so it’s among the very best iOS turn based wargames. It’s tactically deep and has really good replayability. Reminds me of Age of Rifles, an old school ms-dos wargame.
Don’t look at this game low popularity. It’s a marketing problem, not game design one.
What could have been done better.
1) Historic scenarios and maps.
2) Editor
3) Charge mechanics - it can’t do so much harm when runs through friendly lines. Sure horses can stomp friendly guys, but that’s about maximum harm it can cause.
