So hard!!!!,
Three dollars to continue?! What a steal!!
I did the first full week and let me tell you how much these workouts pushes you. I’m trying to get fit and something I struggle with is feeling motivated to workout for an hour.

However these workouts are five minutes long and you’d think that wouldn’t be so bad and be easy but nope! Those five minutes will feel like the longest five minutes you’ve ever experienced!

Not only does it come with the workouts but it comes with things like meal plans to help you. I have yet to try it but I do wish to give it a shot.

As for the three dollars to continue the next seven weeks, I’d say it’s worth it. You get the seven weeks and more meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with snacks.

If you’re still not convinced, download the app and check it out. After a week you’ll feel great and want to spend the three dollars (which you aren’t losing anything compared to other programs that require you to pay a crazy amount and/or a subscription.)

Plus the app has a thing for you to take a photo of yourself for each week and let me tell you. When looking at my stomach today compared to Monday when I took my first photo, I was surprised by how much better my stomach looked.

Keep in mind that the only way this will work is for you to try your hardest and to push yourself. IT WILL HURT! But it’s worth it.

So I ask you again, download the app and give the first week a try and believe me, you won’t regret it.
Dom Childs,
No gimmicks here
Usually I look down on fitness apps as they are typically gimmicks. I decided to try this one, however, out of respect for Jeff Cavalier. He's incredibly knowledgable and puts real effort into what he does. I was not at all disappointed. There aren't any secrets hidden in this app. Just two clear focuses. Consistency and balance. Each workout so far has been very well rounded targeting the upper and lower abs and obliques every single workout. They typically last 5 minutes so theres no excuse not to do them. A follow-along looped video for each exercise plus the in-app preset timer makes it insanely easy to actually train your core on a regular basis without having to take the time out of your day to constantly construct new workouts or god forbid keep repeating the same workout every day. All of this has significantly increased my training consistency and has absolutely trained all of my core muscles in a more balanced way. I've recommended it to several friends already.
Stylix27,
Simple app to structure your goal of getting a sox pack.
This app is great! Shows you lots of exercises and is good about changing it up to keep it engaging. First week is FREE! Afterwards is $3 to unlock the rest of the 8 weeks (and beyond!) *recommended* I’ve already recommended it to a lot of my friends already.

Now, I know this is the “six ab promise” but I didn't get the six pack I wanted, mostly due to my own doing. Dieting and sometimes being unable to do the exercises for the full duration due to the lack of my own strength, and sometimes equipment limitations. My only complaint is that somedays, the jump in challenge is too much and I couldn't do the exercise to its max potential. That being said, I plan to do the 8 week program AGAIN to see how I’ve improved and see if I can finish the challenges this time.

This is a great app to add to your workouts. If you are up for the challenge, I highly recommend it. 👍👍👍👍👍
xoPHOENIXxxSTORMxx,
New update ruined it. (UPDATED)
It took my favorite part about it and ruined it for no reason. My music. It worked perfectly before but suddenly with this new update apparently I can’t listen to music and workout at the same time like I used to. It’s annoying. Now She cuts my music off every time she speaks which is 3 times a min and Jeffs video pauses while music is on which didn’t happen before. Can’t even leave the app at all without my workout pausing. Who works out in silence? This ain’t what I paid for and I’d like this fixed ASAP. I’m honestly quite irritated.

Edit:
They fixed the music playing issue. It’s arguably better now than it ever was as the music doesn’t even quiet down during the workout so that’s great. Jeff’s video doesn’t stop anymore. So all of my complaints above have been mitigated! Thanks for the 6 pack!
Flemmigan,
Good concept, awkward workout plan.
I found that the first few weeks in the program work really well, but the progression in the core plan suffers from the same issue I found in the one Athlean-X program I've used, which is that it goes for novelty and new, gimmicky exercises nearly every workout, rather than consistency. Many of the exercises start to require awkward band set ups that take too much time between exercises, when the earlier workouts with almost no equipment already worked well. Furthermore, some of the workouts are clearly randomized with little thought (60 seconds of canoe crunches after 3 straight minutes of other exercises?). Finally, the app has little customizability, with no way to program your own weekly schedule or custom workout plans. You can save favorite workouts and randomize workouts based on equipment you have, which is good. If there were more customizability, this could be a 5 star app. As it is, it's good and definitely worth the price.
DoUevenOrdnance,
Quit updating!
This app started off great. Have had it for about 4 years. Every update has made it progressively worse. This last one has completely ruined it. Can’t play music at all, demonstration video won’t play during exercise, doesn’t tell you next exercise during current one anymore. Keeps freezing on me. List goes one and on. Get your app fixed Jeff. I paid money for this to work.

So there’s been an update since my last review. I’m upping from a two star to a three star, cause now I can kinda mess around with my phone and get my music to play while I use the app. Still does not say what the next exercise is going to be and is a little laggy. Also it never recovered from where I was at, so I’m still stuck on week two when I should be well passed it. Honestly when I got this app about 4 years ago, maybe more. That’s when it was it’s best. Every update I’ve gone through has made it a little bit worse. Kinda a bummer.
Jtrain0544,
THAXNK YOU!!
I know this app is supposed to be for 6 pack abs but I feel these exercises toning my abs, my arms, my lower back, my hip flexors, my gluteus medius and more!!! I have been seeing a chiropractor for almost two years now, I thought my spine/hips would just be a pain in my side from now on (thanks to climbing the age ladder higher and higher) BUT your education and instruction on spot therapy for my gluteus medius and hip flexors have proved that it’s not the age that gets you. It’s the sedentary lifestyle from an office job that depletes the strength in those muscles causing the slips in my spine and hips. I don’t know why you’re the first to open my eyes to this but I’m 1000% grateful because your dedication to helping us all be the best versions of ourself possible, is helping so much more than just my painful hip alignment! Here’s to health, strength, and energy in 2021 THANX to AX!! You’re the best!!
drehype,
Too many body weight exercises
It used to b better at shuffling exercises but now if I pick any difficulty level 2 or lower, it doesn’t vary up the exercises much. (I’ve been doing level 1 bodyweight for warmup & either bands or pull up bar level 2 for the actual workout) I’m super lucky if I even get 2 exercises for the bar or bands, (30 secs max 🙄) after multiple shuffles & still the rest will b the same ol body weight exercises. Last but not least, seeing what exercise was coming up next was a very useful tool but now it is not available. It helped w setting up the band in position for the next exercise. Now if I don’t remember the whole workout, I’m going to have to wait til the next exercise is announced & hit pause so I can set up. Time wasting. Can we jus get a small tweak to make it how it used to b? Thanks
Yoe 66,
Pretty bad Update
This is not talking about the workouts nor the exercises themselves, which are all very good and definitely help you get a stronger core, this is more about the update that came out recently: It’s really bad. The new update brings about all these problems: it restarted my training program (back to week 1) along with other progress, I can no longer listen to music during my workouts since the programmed voice overlaps and pauses my music and if I try to play my music it crashes the workout, every time that I click on the learn tab it crashes the app (learn tab was useless even before the update but now it crashes), and the program no longer tells you what exercise is next while your doing the current exercise. Again this is a great workout app that has helped me on my fitness journey, but the new update has made everything worse and more difficult to use.
MikeRJensen,
Mediocre at best and requires a lot of equipment
Some of the ab exercises are only there to pump up the numbers for the amount of workouts in the description. About 20 percent of the workouts have very little efficiency in creating a abs. The app also requires about $100 dollars in equipment. This is not listed in the description. The paid version also contains ads at the end of each workout. Lastly, the instructor gives very little time when going from one exercise to the next. I can see the app working to build abs if you use it but honestly there are flaws. Cut out the useless workouts and keep only the most efficient ones. Repetition is okay. The plus side is that the video aspect helps you to learn the workouts and proper form. The app also has a weekly schedule that slowly progresses in difficulty. I would rate the app a 3 versus a 2 if the description was more honest and if there were not ads at the end of each workout.
