joe stoppinghem,
Great app and station
I listen out of town. Heard 93.3 has changed formats but 97.1 is still playing this music.
I understand it is a business but, hope the 'Austin' format can remain in some manner.
Best of luck, hope this can stay around for a long while.
gottabook,
One of the best radio stations in the country!
Visiting Austin recently I fell in love with ACL radio. Weekend mix feels a less consistent with weekdays (I prefer the latter) but still good nonetheless and I’m always discovering great artists I haven’t heard of yet. Props for providing playlist and that I can ❤️ songs, but would be really great if liking heart color was consistent between liking the song when Playing Now and liking the song under Song History. One UX note for the developers—it’s confusing when liking a song under Playing Now is white (not darkened heart) and is dark when liking music under Song History. So did I like the song playing now or unlike it?
Dropped one star for app crashing from time to time but at least it reboots quickly.
So glad I can listen out of town!
sorentex,
Great App. Awesome music!
I don’t live in Austin anymore but love that I can have some of Austin with me wherever I am. The updated App is great. The music is awesome, as always.
khcole,
Great Station but App still in need of update
Very disappointing that this app hasn’t been updated since Apple introduced the iPhone X over 2 1/2 years ago. For example, they just stretched the screen to fit the iPhone X which makes the play button is nearly impossible to hit b/c it’s so close to the bottom of the screen.
distant oversight,
KGSR - excellence in sound
What a great app, best music you can get on the Internet.
LowDFL,
ACL + KGSR = Greatness in Radio
Best mix of the best artists and songs on the radio
Scooter416,
Need either an iPad version or a way to make it landscape.
Love KGSR/ACL but listen to it on the iPad at home. Would like an ipad version or landscape setup.
misjefus,
Best station in USA!
Enough said!
duffster07,
newer is not always better
hate seeing the app is acl radio. what happened to kgsr?
Katario,
Love Kgsr!
I have lived in Austin since 1982, and remember when KGSR first began! They were the only jazz station in town, then as Austin's music scene grew the station grew. Kgsr became a display case for all of the varied and unique types of music Austin is known for showcasing. I LOVED it! After awhile Jody Denberg and Barbara Jo left the station and it became like all of the other radio stations on air. Kgsr appears to be on the mend as of late, playing more of the unique/up and coming artists as well as the groups popular on other stations. It is still miles ahead of any other radio station I have listened to since moving away to Dallas. If I could have one thing extra, it would be to remind any radio station that there is a ton of great music out there, so why continuously play the same playlists over and over again? Can't the new be interspersed with more variety?
