What do you expect? It's free.
I give this app 3 stars because it works relatively well. Sure, there's about a 5 second lag but what do you expect, getting the picture from a wi-fi network. The quality and sound are decent, even though the sound is a little off from the picture. I like how you can take snapshots of the live video. And so far the update is pretty cool. They added an option to take a video of the live feed. Unfortunately when you play back the video on the ipod or iphone, there is no sound. They should try to fix that. The recording you took instantly saves onto your computer, and the sound is fine. Ya there are still a few bugs in this app. Like when I exit out of the app and try to go back on, sometimes there's just a black screen. Also, it still freezes occasionally. I still haven't really played around with it since the update, but so far it's working alright. I don't know why people gave this 1 star. I think it's worth at least 3. I mean, come on. It's free! Of course it's not going to be perfect. If you don't like it, then delete it and don't pay for the extended network one.

Has potential
I have iCam installed on my iPad, but since it doesn't do iPad resolution yet, I decided to try something else. This app is non responsive, has connection issues, and freezes repeatedly. I would much rather use the low res iCam app before relying on this. There are some nice features but I can't purchase the full $7.99 version without knowing the bugs are worked out. Take a hint from what iCam did to make their app work. I would love for this thing to work, but knowing that while I'm out, this app may freeze or something, I just can't depend on in. I open iCam and it goes right to my cameras without freezing or any other problems.

Almost perfect
The 5th star will come when you add a "back" button so that I don't have to hit the home button and start over to change something. If I have a machine set up downstairs and one upstairs and one at work, I have to restart the app to change between them. Add this functionality and this is a fantastic app! I award another star (virtual star) because the desktop-based part of this is a free download and also has great functionality. Good job and well done.
I also think adding the option to disable the video and only listen to the audio would be a great feature. You can now disable the audio, but sometimes I'd rather hear than see - especially at night.

Air Cam delivers
It does what I expected and was easier to set up and use than I expected. The ~5 second lag from my Mac to iPhone is minimal and more than adequate. Air cam is a monitor, not a babysitter. If I wanted an instant real-time surveillance system I would pay at least $90. Anybody too cheap to pay a little money to protect their baby shouldn't bash Air cam. It works, and it's the best product available under $50. If you have too much of a delay might be your network. I love that its range is whatever my wi-fi range is. It gives me a lot freedom. Overall, for a free product it's outstanding.

The Free Version Works good (FOR FREE!)
I was reading some of the reviews, and I dont understand why people say that you have to pay to use it. The free version works just fine for me on my "local" network. I think you have to purchase the full version to use on "external networks" like when you leave the house.
But for the price,the results are more than expected and awesome! I have my laptop setup right now as an impromptu babycam. Yes there is a lag, but its not a big deal, i'm not trying to have a conversation with anyone. The picture is color, and the audio works.
This product makes me love my iphone and my mac even more!

Love It!
This is a great app and does exactly what it says it will. The installation instructions for the server are a bit dicey if you are not familiar with routers and port forwarding but you should be able to muddle through. What it doesn’t tell you here is the Lite version (Free) only works with your local wi-fi. You have to shell out $8 if you want to use it over 3G/Edge/outside wi-fi . Even at that price it is a good buy if you need to monitor something at home while you are away. And the night vision feature is Primo.

GREAT & extremely useful
Not sure why so many folks don't like this app. Works great for me! Very stable. Free as they say over local area network. Have the app on my MacBook, my iPhone, and my iPad. Use it to watch the pressure gauge on my canner while processing foods. That way I know if I need to go to the kitchen and adjust the burner. Allows me to relax & watch TV at night instead of staying in the kitchen for long processing times such as meats. I have an iPhone 4s and a first generation iPad.

Great App, Great Support
I got this app to use as a video baby monitor. I had some issues with the connection initially and after some great support by the support team, the problem turned out to be with my router. Thanks for the quick response and turnaround guys. (4.5/5.0 star for Ray@Support)
As far as the App goes, sometimes the picture is a little grainy and audio seems to get stuck, but overall as a free app, it works well for monitoring my kids from the iPad/Mac/Windows configuration I have.

Great Simple Security Cam!
I'm running my webcam on windows (w/ their free software) & view it around the house as well as where I have wifi on my iTouch.
No problems for me, don't see why others are having them unless they just didn't follow the instructions... If you can set up your home network/wifi, then you can use this app.
