Active Ear is for musicians of all skill levels and instrument types. With dozens of exercises ranging from beginner to advanced, Active Ear focuses on teaching you to identify pitches, intervals, chords, and progressions using only your Ear.
The Practice Mode of the app allows you to customize the challenges to focus only on areas you're interested in improving.
Once you're confident with the Practice Mode, you test yourself in the Quiz Mode of the app to see how well you understand the concepts.
Active Ear Comes with six Ear Training Programs:

Amazing Ear Training App!
This Ear Training App is easily the very best app that I have used. It covers all areas that need to be developed in ear training, including pitch and interval training, chord quality, baseline and progression training. It also covers these areas in a very logical sequence for musical growth. But what sets this app apart, is that it gives amazing functionality and flexibility to customize your practice and assessment to target your desired area. This makes it extremely useful in helping any musician to develop. No matter your level of ability, this app can meet your ear training needs!

Active Ear Training
This is, without a doubt, the best ear training app I have ever seen…or heard. It thoroughly covers all the necessary aspects of ear training. This includes progressions, intervals, chord types and inversions, as well as bass lines. There are both quizzes and practice features. Most noteworthy are the many options in the practice sections that allow the user to focus in on exactly what the desired aspects of ear training for each, particular session. I give this app my highest recommendation.

Clear, simple, effective
I’ve tried many ear training apps and what I appreciate about this one is that it is very linear - it helps me as a beginner progress little by little toward my goals, which is really helpful rather than just having scattered exercises of differing difficulties.

Great learning tool
This app helps a lot with ear training. You can start with the basics and grow upward to having real relative pitch. I can read music well. This app is helping me learn to recognize pitches. Chords, intervals, etc. I highly recommend this app. It is easy to use and understand!

Just what I needed
I’m 77. I wish I’d had this app when I was 17, or better yet, 7. Ear training is a test you can’t cram for. This app provides a good way to slowly, incrementally develop skill.
