Best games in App Store
What can I say about the genius of these games? Stellar graphics, very clever puzzles, completely immersive storylines, takes you inside the games and leaves you wishing for more chapters. The ignorant cheapskate who had the nerve to call a company that offers such excellent content “money grubbing,” you serious bro?! I have solved every one of these games without hints or paying for stars- having patience, and finally solving puzzles is a reward in its own. I really think this company should start charging at least $5.99 upfront for their content, on par with most other companies who charge the same or more for crappy content. I hope this company continues to grow and reach a wider audience, they have what it takes to become a Fortune 500. My only complaints would be wishing they had a faster turnout, and I liked it when they kept the games separate and each had a cool opening sequence. Love the WWII one, the haunted theme ones, the Kate Grey mysteries (especially Murder Inn), and this new “Covenant” one is awesome! Please keep growing and making exceptional content.

Another fabulous game from Haiku!
I think Haiku is the only developer to whom I've said this: You really should charge for your games! The quality is absolutely outstanding. Challenging, innovative puzzles, robust storyline, terrifying graphics, great soundtrack, and seamless, glitchfree play, time after time. (Well, there were a couple buggy games last Christmas, but you fixed them.)

You may be relying on people to buy stars, but unfortunately many probably rely on walkthroughs. If you charge $1.99, the vast majority of people will pay it. I would! And if they don't, you are only losing a free customer, so no loss to the books. Honestly, you are so much better than your competition, it's ridiculous. My Apple Pay is ready to go. :-D

Note to other reviewers (one in particular): Don't punish the developer (and possibly your fellow gamers) by taking off stars because you think the puzzles are hard! That doesn't make the game flawed, it only means that YOU need practice in critical thinking! :-Q
chantlover,
Sad history, but intriguing game
I’m not very far into the game, and I’m enjoying it, but I don’t give a game 5 stars until I finish, and then only if I really, really like it. But it’s been interesting so far, and I’m enjoying the spy-centric puzzles. The only thing I’m ticked about is that when I was putting together an easy jigsaw puzzle, I reached up for a puzzle piece in the right corner and accidentally hit the “skip” button, losing several stars in the process! I started the scene over, but it didn’t return my stars, though the puzzle was still put together. But when I started over once more, hoping to gain the stars back THIS time, the puzzle was apart! I had to put it together again, and still lose my stars! Insult to injury!! Please don’t put small things so near where the skip button is. In looking for clues, it’s sometimes hard to avoid hitting that button. But other than that glitch, it’s been entertaining, and the period background and wardrobes are wonderful!! I look forward to these Haiku escape games very much. Please keep making them!!

Another Great Adventure Game!
All of the Adventure Games are excellent. They are extremely challenging—and many of the puzzles are downright difficult! Allied Spies is no different; in fact, it’s one of the best in the series that I have played so far. But, I’m not gonna lie—I used several of the hints and even had to look at a Walkthrough to help me get through a few of the puzzles. But, these games are always unique and very well put together, plus, as an extra bonus, there are very rarely glitches or problems with the app itself. That’s important on many levels, none the least of which is that, when you have worked as hard at these puzzles as it sometimes takes, the last thing you want to have happen is for the game to crash, or to somehow not save your progress. That would be devastating! Kudos to the creators of these games; I hope they just keep making more of the same. Lots of fun and a great way to keep your brain active and thinking.
Sunrise Bird,
Fun!
Fun to play to pass time. The puzzles are hard, a lot of them stumped me, so I had to replay the level many times to collect enough stars to get a hint (only thought to look up a walkthrough towards the end). The graphics are good, although the drawing of poses sometimes looked awkward. And Marie’s costume change at the end didn't make that much sense, wish she would’ve kept the Helga disguise. And I liked going over the different dialogue scenarios, I wish there was a way to play each level separately after finishing all the chapters instead of having to play the game all over again. Also want more adventures with these characters. It’d be fun to see them again. And I’ve been looking for espionage themed escape puzzles, which there isn’t that much of, so more of this would be really great! 😎💼
KandyCreatorPlays,
❤️ It!!!
So far I adore this game. The puzzles are hard, but not so hard to the point where you delete the game completely. I am giving this a four star because I haven’t finished the game and I get stars for doing this XD. I remember trying this game when I was little and getting scared of the shooting of the lanterns. Then I deleted the game after I got stuck on the puzzle with Marie, the guard, and the passport information. I remember telling him the option, “I am a spy. I will kill you!” Lol. Anyhoo FANTASTIC game so far!

EDIT: I was soooo wrong about the puzzles.

Ok, so the puzzle where you have to trace the rope to untie it? Welp, apparently in too FAT to play this game! I can’t see where the white line in the rope is, so I keep hitting the walls. After spending what felt like hours on this, I decided not to scream and fling my phone across the room and do the responsible thing instead: delete the game. I mean, this game is great. I just don’t want to have to deal with a broken phone today. Just not feeling it.
P34ches,
Umm yes!!
I have to say, Haiku must have some very amazing minds working for them. I love! Love! Love! That it’s not always the same storyline. From Beginner to Advanced it is a joy to play. Haiku you have made a game that is fun, challenging in ways that keep my brain ticking, you keep my interest, and you keep me coming back for more. Keep being unique it is working! I would also like to add. While it is challenging enough to keep me working on a puzzle for a couple days sometimes. I cannot express how much I appreciate that I can figure it out without ever having the thought that “ It’s the same ole same ole and all your looking for is money” because I’m so frustrated with a very obvious bias to encourage money spending through difficult game play. That to me makes you guys a 10 stars, forget just the 5!
BWB7,
Excellent story, free to play, great mind challenges
You are my favorite developer to play games with. The games have great story lines to keep you intrigued, excellent graphics with crisp definition, puzzles of many different styles, and free to play. Please keep writing more games for us to play. I enjoy your diversity in games. This one is about a couple needing to get through a specific story line. Other games are about a detective and her solving the crimes she encounters. And recently a very fun twist with a game where you are a shape shifter trying to escape imprisonment. That was a fun bonus as you could change your view point from your different shape shifted forms. Each view point brought different clues to solve that chapter. I can not wait to see you next game. Thanks for being so awesome!
Chef Momacaroni,
Great story, great puzzles, great fun!
The last effort by Haiku was not like their other games, it was the 1st & only game I deleted before finishing-the puzzles were so bizarre & the solutions were out of left field. Allied Spies returns us to the Haiku genre we all know & love. Good puzzles-some requiring thought, some dexterity but all doable & enjoyable. This time there was choice based dialogue which was fun & different for a change. The story is based off WWII and 2 Allied spies working with the French Resistance-I like that a little history made its way into the game. All in all a great game!!
Revision-changed my rating! That’ll teach me to write a review before I’m
totally done with the game. The game simply freezes after the nazi hand to hand combat puzzle, I completed it, choosing all the right moves & then it just froze. Can’t move forward, can’t move back. It ain’t good enough to start from
scratch so I guess I just delete before I get to finish the game & we all know how much we luv THAT!
SupremeMerlin,
Game is glitched!
I remember playing this game a couple of years ago, and enjoying is (hence why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1). This go around however, from the very first chapter, the game was super buggy. As soon as the game starts, if you accidentally touch the symbol on the log in front of you, the tutorial starts and tells you the pick up the knife, but you can’t since you’re stuck on that zoom in of the symbol and can’t back out. Thus forcing you to close the game and restart it. Then when you get the point where you have to put the lanterns in the windows, the two left windows have no touch area response along with the middle one above the door (and you need the top left window to proceed). The right 2 are barely responsive to when you touch them and have to be pressed several times while slightly moving around before it responses to the input. Tried closing and restarting several times, but that did not fix the problem, still unresponsive.
