Mlaff68,
Almost useless
I’ve had my Horizon treadmill for about a year and this app is a huge pain. Most of these apps offer multiple types of programs, but I have never found any of those helpful. Across devices and apps, I prefer the “manual” setup. However unlike some others, this app does not allow me to save the “manual” program for using again and again. I have to set the speed, incline and time at every workout. And then it doesn’t always start, so my workout info is not gathered. Luckily, the Apple fitness indoor walk captures it even if this app doesn’t.

It also doesn’t work very well to see previous workouts. There isn’t a table or anything. We have to use “roller” selectors to get to the date and that won’t display properly if the phone is in “dark” mode. Have to change to “light” mode to see the selection.

I would love to have the ability to save a program and for to see a history table with the usual controls to sort the data by day or year or any of the values really. It should also display properly in “dark” mode.
Dom-Diggity,
Useless App
The AFG Pro Fitness App is basically useless for us. It will not connect to more than one device. My fiancé cannot connect his phone prior to his workout while I am home because the treadmill automatically connects to my phone instead. I have to completely turn off my Bluetooth in order for him to connect, but even then all of the data saved on my app doesn’t communicate to his app once he is connected. Also, none of the toggle-style selections are visible on our phones to select birthday or dates.

Finally, having the app connected to the treadmill completely disengaged all manual functionality. So even if we wanted to just have one of our phones connected and the other user operate the machine manually, we can’t. So we ultimately just deleted the app from our phones and will use the treadmill manually. Rather disappointing.
Windstormer,
Works Well As Intended
The app does exactly as it states. It seems some people are expecting much more from various Bluetooth connections. I’m impressed with the app’s ability to connect, quick response to the changes with the treadmills. The app is very clear on what to do and offers a good variety of workouts as well as customization.

For those that want to use another Bluetooth connected app, such as Netflix, start the AFG Pro app and program what you want the treadmill to do. Start the treadmill, then pause it with the red “Stop” button on the treadmill. Connect your Netflix up, press the green “Start” button on the treadmill.

For the amount of features and hookups that the treadmill has, as well as a great app, this is a minor inconvenience. So minor that I don’t even look at it as being one.
diegfkxgsuw,
This app doesn’t allow access to anything new
Lacking a lot of functionality. The app was supposed to allow you to personalize your display and access more options for the treadmill, but it does very little that can’t be accomplished through the limited touch buttons on the treadmill itself. Although the app syncs with the treadmill, it will not carry information over from other devices already synced with the treadmill (for example the profile that was created on the treadmill or on a different device does not show up as existing when you start up the app on a new device, or does it show any workout history that wasn’t created on that specific device). This app leaves so much to be desired!!!
Roger's Itunes Account,
Unfortunately I have to agree with other poor reviews
As many others have stated, there are several basic problems with this app. It would seem this to be a pretty easy fix just to make the app moderately useful.

I’d suggest starting by making the app work such that multiple devices can attach without all of the data resetting. It seems obvious to me that multiple users in a household would bring their own phone/tablet to the treadmill. Until that is fixed I don’t see how this could be useful in any home where more than 1 user wants to use the treadmill.

On the good new side we like the actual treadmill.
Zz3542,
Possibly the worst app I’ve ever used
This is very poorly done. Not sure if it was ported over from another OS via some automated method and not tested, but if this was developed natively for iOS someone wasted their money.
The interface has little to indicate what is tappable and what is not. Large amounts of space are wasted on borders around icons and displays. Often times tapping something will bring up a keyboard with no indication of what is being edited, and no way to back out. Other UI elements pop up under the keyboard and it isn’t possible to reach their buttons.
No idea what all this does that my treadmill’s screen doesn’t, but the app doesn’t improve access to few things that were obvious.
jack macklack,
Crap
Unless I just havnt quite figured something out this app is junk a disgrace to the quality horizon treadmill it “connects” to may take 10 minutes to connect then does nothing other than what the actual treadmill display does maybe even less then it pretty much renders all basic buttons useless when it’s connected so your forced to use the crap app to control not to mention the only thing that it does other than the display is save workout data but have done 3 workouts with the app running and connected the entire time and it has saved no data whatsoever
BizGuy0477,
Johnson Healthtech doesn’t care
Since writing this, the last version update was 9 months ago. Most apps need weekly if not daily updates to even work properly. Clearly the company doesn’t care about the end user experience and has crafted an app with just the minimum viable product in mind. That indicates they don’t care about customer experience or satisfaction after they sell you a treadmill. THAT has been my entire experience this far with this company. It’s really sad. They have the opportunity to BE an exceptional company and app for treadmills but don’t have enough skill set or passion to get there.
JDThird,
Has issues even just displaying its own info
The connection takes forever to my treadmill, but at least once it’s connected, I can change settings. But when you go to the history to look at your workout history, it’s useless. You click on the start date for the range you want and it doesn’t display anything for you to select the date, just yes and no on the bottom. There is absolutely no way I can look at my history using this app.
just a guy named dave,
Doesn’t save your workout if you leave app
Application connected just fine, started a 10k run through the app. Watched a show on the same device in a different app. When my run was almost done, I switched back to the AFG fitness app and told me I had a current program running and needed to quit that program first. I continued to run, and when the program finished, it did not store my run in my profile history.
The AFG app should just stay in the current program and not attempt to creat a new one.
