Disaster app
While glitchy, the app worked for about 6 months on home WIFI. Then boom, overnight is stops working on both iPhone and iPad (latest iOS)... the channels are unselectable! After rebooting iPhone and no change, I deinstalled and reinstalled app. Same behavior. Spoke to support, they logged call and called me back almost everyday for 10 days, each day telling me they were still diagnosing and had no resolution. Last call I told them I had enough and to simply close the ticket out.
Interestingly, as a workaround for the Watch Fioptics issue they told me to download their WatchAnywhere app which apparently is designed to (you guessed it) work anywhere while you’re away from home. Sadly the app was unfindable on Apple App Store and the references to the app on the Fioptics website were nonsensical... described the app/service but provided no links or instruction on how to find it. Crazy-crazy stuff. Even the Support rep was scratching her head.
Bottom line: this app is worthless for me.

Worst app ever. Never works
JUST SWITCH NOW. This app is absolutely horrible? Doesn’t matter how many times you delete and remove and reinstall the app, it never works. Don’t waste your time and just switch to Spectrum or other streaming services. Alta fiber will soon go out of business because it is one of the worst functioning companies & app. One would think with paying a high premium for cable and being able to have an app that allows you to stream it on your devices, you would make sure the app would actually work and function well. Poor development, poor developers, poor management overall. My recommendation is for everyone to cancel her subscription with altafiber and move to either spectrum or another streaming service. And Altafiber…FIX IT!!! AND MAKE SURE IT WORKS ALL THE TIME!!!!!!! Did I mention how horrible this app is already.

This app used to be Better!
This app was better before the update! I have an iPhone 8+ and since I updated this app it got worse. Every time I watch something the show will glitch for 5 seconds randomly. This happens maybe 6 or 7 times every hour. There are also times when I’m watching something and it will glitch for a couple seconds then come back and it will rewind 15 seconds so now I’m watching something I just watched. This is very annoying! Also the new update made it to where I can’t lay down and watch something if I have my phone sideways. If you try to have you phone sideways it won’t let you watch something full screen. This app was way BETTER before the update! Please fix these issues or I will be forced to delete and download every Individual app to watch different channels which I didn’t want to! Thanks

This app only works when your at home under the same network. I was told u can watch this away but you can't. What's the point of watching a game on your phone when you can watch it on your TV??? I feel like this is the Wii U concept. Let your wife watch the cooking show and you can take your phone anywhere even the bathroom and watch football "only" in your house. Waste of space deleting.

Has some improvements to go
I think this app has the potential to be a enjoyable app that allows the users to have access to their TV packages selected. It would be nice to see a focus placed on getting the app up to what is expected of an app with ability to set up recordings over the phone and access to the channels not just on the networks. I know there are some upgrades when it comes to the TV portion of things but hopefully it comes sooner than later to the app.

Over 6 Months Of Waiting For This?
When the original (and awful) Fioptics app was pulled last Spring, 2016, the promise was for a new and improved replacement to debut in September. It's now March, 2017 and the long wait has yielded a dud. Video is quickly accessible when on your home network. That's fine. But inability to set up recording? Or access outside of home network? Fioptics continues to perform like amateurs trying to keep up with national players like Spectrum and DirecTv. And falling short. Their apps, available for quite some time, offer superior features and functionality. Very disappointing.

Continues to have problems with freezing
Through all updates since release of the “new” app (after months and months of no app being available), problems with channel streams freezing continue. Sometimes, if you wait 30+ seconds the video will resume streaming. Most times, the lockup is a hard freeze. This has been an issue on multiple Apple phone and tablet devices and happens with any channel.

Good for home only
I’ve tried using this app numerous times in different locations with and without wifi and it never goes to any options, it will show the guide and that’s it but once home it works perfect , can stall at times and I catch myself having to close out and reopen when it freezes.

Airplay support?
I downloaded expecting to be able to airplay a show on our tv in the basement - is it not supported? Because we have to be at home and the basement tv is the only one without a cable box, I don’t see much use for this app. I also see suggestions for being able to watch DVR’d shows. Being able to do that and AirPlay to an Apple TV would be big wins for the app.

I’d give zero stars if possible
Our electric went out during a premiere of a show we’d been waiting on and I quickly thought, that’s okay we can watch from the app.... NOPE! Can’t watch Fioptics on the go like it advertises. You can only watch if on your home wi-fi. How ridiculous is that? What good is an app on my home network if I already rent 4 boxes for the TVs. Come on Cincinnati Bell. I expected more for what we have to pay for your service.
