Description

To broaden the use of 3D foot scanning technology on iOS platforms, we now add an TrueDepth® app named AOMS TOT jr to our AOMS TOT family. The original AOMS TOT app is used on iPad with the Structure Sensor, while AOMS TOT jr is operated without any externally attached sensor. It makes a much smaller hardware and reliable. With the emergence of the built-in TrueDepth® camera in some iPhone and iPad models, we are now able to use this newest technology for the orthotic industry. Together with the systematic setup we developed for foot scanning, AOMS TOT jr is aimed to give foot professionals a versatile tool to acquire 3D contour of the plantar surface of the foot. Besides emails, files are accessible through Apple's Files App. Special considerations regarding ‘neutral position casting’ were taken into account during development. This app was developed with iPhone XR and iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd Gen). The popular 3D OBJ files generated from the app are meant to be used in the AOMS systems to have foot orthotics made. AOMS TOT jr Version 4.0 is a major update. Now it has built-in 3D viewing capability, which includes Pan, Rotate, and Zoom. Before this version, 3D images had to be 3D-viewed through a separate third-party 3D package.

AOMS TOT jr Version 3.0 covers iPhone 12 for much better accuracy. In the previous versions, the accuracy of the untested devices like iPhone 12 was off the track. Right now we have more accurate data, so the accuracy has been improved. Also, we physically tested the app with iPhone 12. Other devices like iPhone 13 has been added, but not physically tested by us. Still, you will need a device with TrueDepth camera on it in order to use this app. If you find trouble with your qualified device, please let us know.

The recent iOS 14.3 update made the AOMS TOT jr app almost inoperable. The scans are always too short. This Version of 2.1 is to make the app work again under the new iOS. All other features are the same as in the previous Version 2.0. Please read the descriptions and precautions there.

The upgrade also make the app to be Apple's Files App compatible, so users can easily access the scanned files and share them through email or other methods at a later time. Other improvements were made to enhance stability. Development was made with iPhone XR and iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd Gen).
