TheSeaward,
Great start but not very diverse.
This app does a great job at something no other developer has been able to execute on: tank design. There are some limitations that I wish I knew about in advance but not because I regret the purchase.

- ornaments are limited to kitschy and what I think are mostly tacky things I'd never use in an aquarium (shipwreck, deep sea diver person, etc) there are some basic options that aren't bad but they don't fit the population of your tank with few exceptions (more below)
- no landscaping just a backdrop (enhancement request: also selection of rocks and live rock and coral in addition to plants)
- no freshwater species. Huge problem. No South American or African freshwater fins at all, which is weird considering the plant and landscape options you are permitted in Ornaments are often suited for South American species.

So my gripes are mainly in that I really wanted to build a fancy reef tank with live rock and coral or really a nice densely rocked African cichlid tank but neither of those are possible currently.

The software is certainly capable of doing it though so I hope my feedback is considered. I'm iffy on the in-app-purchase model but it makes sense to me as a user how it works which is something at least.
Sunshine’s Cap'n,
Beautiful and relaxing
This has been a great addition to our study. Lots of options. Would love to see the ability to change the camera view over time with the reef setup.

Update, from the developer:
You can actually change camera views in the reef automatically. If you go to SETTINGS you can set SHUFFLE to 1, 5 or 10 minutes. When in that mode, if you are in the reef it will switch to a random camera view (there are 14) at the chosen intervals.
Fourth-Density,
Very crude, lacking features & not elegant in the least
Sadly this app is not the virtual fish tank I had hoped for. It has a limited number of backgrounds, the ones available are as ugly as it gets, the graphics are very poor. The fish move in a choppy manner. I had hoped that this would be my virtual fish tank that I could play on my 50” inch tv in my study 24/7 as a dedicated virtual fish tank. I would be embarrassed if I had guests over and they saw this on my wall. I hope improvements and updates are to come in the future. I will change my review if that is the case.
GodChaser1988,
Okay But...
Fish movements tend to be pretty mechanical - especially when moving up or down. Fish also swim through each other and through the ornaments. Would really be nice if we had the option to view the tank with the background & ornaments but without the glass.

A little angry that I’ve spent money buying shells to add to my aquarium (added almost everything) and then they decide to unlock everything for everyone after I’ve already paid for it all!!
Gheega,
Beautiful Aquarium
What a nice appt. I love the changing camera angles, but then it can remain on just one as well. We think it is so peaceful. The fish are gorgeous and the plants vivid. Definitely worth the money!
Kablevins,
Fish Tank no longer showing
As of June 21, 2020 the Apple TV app and iOS app no longer show the fish tank. Instead it has the menu items and a light blue background, no other options/ fish tank appear. It looks as if a server may have got disconnected. Please fix.
C. Ives,
Abandonware-Do not buy
This used to be a solid app, and was probably the best aquarium app out there, as it worked on AppleTV, iPad, iPhone . . .

Now, nothing. It hasn’t been updated in 3 years and no longer works properly.

I want it to work. I liked it. Now it’s nothing but a waste of drive space.

I hope the developer updates it, but after three years I’m not going to hold my breath.
PhilM29,
Crashes with new Apple TV update last week
It crashes after the recent Apple TV update. Please fix!!
Steve91519,
An aquarium in your living room...
No tank, no water, no weight, no maintainance, no expense (to speak of--$7.00 vs. $700-$7,000?).

This app, and a good HD TV, and you have 99% of the experience of a beautiful tank of fish--or a window on the ocean.

It's amazing how far AI has come, but I have to remind myself they are virtual fish, it is that good. I'm no marine biologist, but the movement of each fish appears to be absolutely realistic, and different for each species! I particularly enjoy the manta ray and the shark, in the open ocean.

if I were to look for a flaw in the app, it would be only the music. There are 3 different choices, but none of them appeal to me. Fortunately silence is an option...and they claim you can provide your own, but I haven't yet seen a way to do that.

Great job!
ClearBlueWaters,
Outstanding. Use it before bed.
I have two of the ocean tanks and will be setting up a third. I have an assortment of beautiful fish, with a couple of sharks and sea turtles. I am quite happy to buy the inexpensive "shells" which is the currency to add in tanks.

I like being able to change the mix of fish, then it dawned on me to just set up some different tanks and go nuts having a concentration of say blue or yellow fish.

There is a good assortment and their swimming is very lifelike. I now see them as conscious beings and will probably name a few. Seriously.

Relaxing any time and before bed, with or without music it helps to relax and sleep better

I am hoping the already great fish selection will get expanded. Love this app!
