Description

AR.Race 2

AR.Race2 is now the official App to use for piloting AR.Drone 2.0 with iPhone/iPad. It allows you to choose your preferred flying mode: free flight or timed race.

JUST FLY! - The “training” flight option enables you to pilot the Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 and to take aerial photos and videos. Connect to your AR.Drone toy by Wi-Fi and you are ready to fly! Use iPhone, iPod or iPad touchscreen as a directional pad to control your AR.Drone.

AEROBATICS! – Make your AR.Drone 2.0 flip in mid-flight using a simple double-click.

TIMED RACE - The timed race option within “AR. Race” enables pilots to compete on a chosen circuit.
Only one AR.Drone 2.0 is needed to play. Fly alone or with friends where competitors race one after the other and try to set the fastest time. Just share controls with your friends to register players lap time. Use your surroundings to create an unlimited number of racing circuits. Each tree, each door, every object can become a part of the AR.Race2 track. In just a few seconds, a new circuit is born. Race times are recorded. Share them and challenge your friends. To create a circuit, just fly over the printed target included in the AR.Drone 2.0 box. It marks the start/finish line.
3…2…1 GO!

Enjoy your flights and races!

Max in Dallas,
Parrot Didn't Want to Pay Apple
From what I heard, Parrot did not want to pay Apple after Apple discovered they were using their technology (the tilt feature using the gyroscope) to control the Drone. I suppose they wanted too much money from Parrot so they decided to make another app without that feature. I would assume that with the bucks they haul in on parts and the prices of the drones that they would have plenty to cut Apple in, but perhaps not...
Alejaguerraahu,
Loved it
I do not understand everyone's complains, because I didn't have the older version so I do not know what is missing. My personal experience flying my drone for the first time was amazing, I loved it, it was much easier than I expected, smooth and I loved the camera quality, I doubted how good the camera was and I attached my gopro (which added more weight to the drone) and I had no problems I even took a risk and flew it by a river and i had full control. I'm very please!!!! Test it if you can, do not make a deist ion based on others opinion
Armymanjm11,
Good but big problem
Better than the other app for this drone, except it doesn't work for iPhone 6's. I just bought a new phone, a 6, as an upgrade from my 5 and I wanted to fly my drone and the app only works on half of my screen while it places the live video feed in the top left corner. I don't know why but I can't fly my drone with this phone.
MPL55,
Bad APP Move.
I was recently given an AR Drone as a gift from my family. And I was enjoying "safely" learning how to fly it with the Absolute Control and Accelerometer Piloting mode. With the removal of that option in version 2.2.1, I have been researching on a way to go back to the previous 2.1.3 version.

So many of the reviews of the AR Drone, stating how easy it is to fly now need to be removed as fly it with version 2.2.1 is extremely difficult. Now I am scared to take my drone out to fly, in fear that I will destroy it.

Please restore the Absolute Control and Accelerometer Piloting mode that made the AR Drone so appealing and cool.
ASF 9898,
Full of lies
All the people who said the app crashes a lot are full of lies, I used the for a long time and it never crashed an has not a single problem.
Those people are probably from other companies trying to make you app look bad.
Balonny,
Still in development
This app is not good.
First of all when you take off the drone drifts unlike free flight. After you move the joystick (let's say to go further) it keeps moving for at least 3seconds.
The ability to find the target to stop and start the race is cool. There is an option to have an auto flip upon completion
Jambsquanche,
No longer has absolute control option.
No longer has absolute control option. It is completely unacceptable for a company to say that their product comes with this technology and not have it. I guess at one time this app did have the tilt control but then they just took it away. I don't know if there is a legal issue with Apple or what (frankly I don't care). This is false advertising, and Parrot may have more lawsuits coming their way if they don't resolve this.
Stayeraug,
False advertising
Company advertises tilt control. Purchased the drone assuming it had tilt control... Got it in the mail today, just to discover that option has been removed, and parrot screwed us all... I hope I can partake in the class action they deserve... They should have a large sticker on the box or advertisements stating NO TILT CONTROL, as well as lower their price since you are no longer getting what you paid for...

Does not work at all!
Just got my husband the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 for Christmas. I downloaded this app for him to try out his new toy, but every time one of the features of the app are touched i.e. Training, the app closes. I tried reinstalling, still doesn't work. I tried installing it on another iPad we have, same thing. This is going to be pretty disappointing if he can't use it because the app is crap!
Drone816,
LOVE IT
Been trying to find the app now I have it love the drone but the battery should last a little longer than 8-10 minutes but still cool.
