Watch ARTE offline
With our download option you can now watch ARTE programmes offline. That means on the plane, on the beach or wherever you like. Download videos by pressing the download button (before you go off grid). Your downloads are stored in your “MyARTE” space for 72 hours and are accessible abroad.
Linkup to your TV screen
If you have a Chromecast key or Apple TV you can connect the ARTE app to your TV screen. Just click on the ‘Cast’ icon in the video player.
MyARTE
In your “MyARTE” space you can continue watching videos from where you left off, select your favourites and add content to watch later.
Language - Choose your language by clicking on the cog on the bottom-right of the video player. (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish). You can also change languages in the app settings.
For optimal performance the ARTE app needs to access to
- Calendar in order to add upcoming programmes
- Bluetooth for access to Chromecast
- Microphone to configure Chromecast
Authorisation for access will be asked when you navigate the app. You can refuse access at any time.

Great app, with a caveat!
This app is very well-designed, and normally delivers stable service. It usually gets better in each update as well, except that in the latest version, its LIVE gadget in the Today's menu is not working any more and keeps saying "Aucun direct trouvé". I hope this can be fixed soon in the next upgrade.

Videos still not updated for iPhone X?!
5 months and still can’t watch the videos full screen on iPhone X! Even worse, the videos are cropped and the texts and subtitles are cutoff on the screen..

Needs your email address to make bookmarks
This is a great app but there’s one big bummer. Why do I need to register to use the bookmark function? There’s really no user justifiable reason for that. No, I do not want to sync my bookmarks. If I do, you can still use my iCloud account for that but please make that optional, not mandatory.

it gets worse with every update
This app used to be amazing, it had a lot of content and was easy to navigate (around 2013). Now with every update it feels like content gets less and less, and the redesign was a step back in my opinion. I am sad about it!

Quality going down
Content is now limited. Used to find very good documentary and diversified topics. Now its just kinda of boring...

Most videos blocked in the USA

Great and works fine.
Great App and works fine. I use it on the iPad and use AirPlay for sound on wifi speakers. Must be able to mirror it on Apple TV, haven't tried this yet. Works flawless. Read the previews reviews. The App is offered in the US Store coz of US Account holders who are in Europe can watch it as well. And with certain proxy apps it might work world wide.

I love this app, I'm a non-native French speaker and it great for learning the language. Why is the Apple TV app only in German though? It would be great to have a French option

Great information, good for education.
This app is perfect for anyone trying to stay informed on a political or social scale internationally. It's user interface is easy and really accessible. It supports about 4 or 5 languages, so it's perfect for anyone trying to learn or practice their language skills.

Please please please please please add English; or Spanish my French is nonexistent in German is even more nonexistent for me however there is a lot of content that is an English therefore I really want to be able to use this app and watch those shows
