Ghijkmnop,
Long-awaited HD upgrade
I have been using Artist's Touch along with other tools to manipulate photos for over 18 months, and have always found it fun to use, achieving great results. The only real problem I had with the app was its iPad 1 resolution, and getting the work printed. This upgrade takes care of that nicely. All the tools are still there, and the functionality has remained as familiar as before.

Nitpicks and feature requests-- 1. I'd like to see a deeper zoom for very fine edits. 2. The largest scale of the brush strokes could stand to be much larger. This would allow the creation of an underpainting effect. 3. A carry-over problem from the previous version is the random resizing and transparency change when changing tools.

This is a welcome update.
photoshop-er,
Had no idea this was still available!!!
I loved this app back in the day! After an ios update had to switch to cleverpainter now this is back and cleverpainter is gone. I think people have the wrong idea of what this app does that’s why there’s so many low ratings. People are probably looking for the instant photo to paint apps. This is a kind of coloring book kind of app. It’s super fun and very relaxing. I love taking the time to paint my photos starting with the large brushes then the smaller ones to add a little detail to my painting. Just with there were more customizable settings. I dont like the random direction the strokes go. Hats off to the developers and thank you soo much for bringing this app back!!! I absolutely love using it and it brings back fond memories of my first iPad. Thank you so much!
Musselshoal,
Amazing App
Absolutely one of the most unique photo apps you can find. It is not an “instant” photo app. It is a powerful rendering tool that does things that no other app can approximate. It needs to be updated a bit. I hope Artamata will invest in it and make it even better than before. As it is, for a real photo artist, it’s amazing!
DebbieF49,
Crashes
Doesn’t work at all. No matter what I select, it crashes back to the home screen. I am up to date on the iOS and I’m using an iPad Pro. I’d like my money back. DON’T buy this app.
Zonetones,
Crashes
As soon as I try to paint, it crashes. Every time with every photo.
Fan be gone,
Hated it
Not at all what I wanted. Will never use it.
SJP-iPad,
Very Nice Application, but Requires Some Practice and Creativity
When I first looked at this application and saw a couple of negative reviews I was ready to just pass it by, but... I went to the product website and watched the instructional videos and so forth and realized that the application is quite sound, but requires some practice, skill, and maybe even a touch of talent to get excellent results. As you see in the instructions, you can paint, using a photograph as the base. You can cover it quickly with broad strokes and then come back with a finer brush and go over the areas where you want more detail - such as the face. It takes some practice to get the brush size and stroke that you want. Once you begin to get skilled at it, which will probably take only 2 or 3 pictures, you will find that you can turn photos into unique paintings, unlike those that are completely generated by the computer. You get to add a touch of your style to the creation. I have found the application to be stable and to do what it claims to do. For that, I have to give it five stars. If you read the national reviews that this product received, you will probably also agree that it is a 5-star application.
GlassCanvas,
Very Nice app
I use Artist's Touch as one of my art creation tools and get very nice results. First I use larger brushes and then detail with smaller brushes. I can finish a painting in a short time. When I am done I export to the photo gallery of the iPad or to my Mac. Since I have several paint programs for the iPad, I sometimes continue a painting with other programs in which case I use artist touch as my painting foundation. I also can start with another program and finish with Artist's Touch. Either way it's a fun tool.
nickba,
Wow!
This is the most fun and rewarding photo app that I have used. There are still some very minor bugs, but I'm giving this five stars in anticipation that they will be fixed. I have not been able to put this down. Amazing results and enough flexibility to be as creative as you desire. Your "paintings" literally come alive before your eyes. For those of you that like the old time black and white portraits that are hand tinted, this look can be accomplished beautifully.
Tad4,
Terrific!
Loved playing with this app, wish it could save the session like colorsplash so you can go back and work on things half done. If you save it in photos, once you pull it up again, you go back to the outline view...hope I am making sense. I gave five stars anyway as the results are outstanding. Try it with cloud pics..omg really awesome on canvas background. More pricey app but love it, look forward to being able to save sessions in the app.
