I don’t like it!!
I liked the first Aviary better. It was easy to use and had so many more choices and editing options. I liked it because it was different than the rest of the photo editing apps. Now that they decided to “upgrade” the app, it looks and functions like all of the other photo editing apps. I am so disappointed because I was using the old app until I upgraded my iPhone then had to get this one. I miss the original Aviary app so much!! Please go back to the first Aviary!! 😢😢

I used the old version constantly for years. It was by far my favorite photo app. Friends and family always asked where to get all those cool effects.
It was easy to use, had a seemingly endless selection of stickers, borders, backgrounds, etc. Best of all, there was so much free stuff that users could really enjoy the app without ad-ons. BUT, after becoming a fan of the app and experiencing the amazing options, users knew purchasing certain ad-ons was well worth the low price. I also recommend the app to dozens of people, many of who spent money on it as well.
When the old version of Aviary disappeared from my phone I was crushed. No other photo app I’ve found can even compare.
I downloaded this new version as soon as I saw it, assuming it would be like the old one w/ some new features. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!
This new Aviary+ is so basic. The entire look of the app is bare and boring. I didn’t see a store for stickers, backgrounds, etc where you can browse tons of free and paid options. There are like 8 standard filters available and only 3 of them are free.

Nothing like the old app
Honestly if you guys are trying to money grab you should have just made the old app subscription based like this one. (You can only use this app for $4.99/month). If the dev’s comment this isn’t a money grab, then why completely shut down the previous app? Many apps have a baseline and + version that offers more...this offers far less.
They have removed virtually 75% of the features of the old app and seem to have literally copied VSCO’s template. If you can please explain this as your popularity did not come from you templates or your “stickers”. And tbh I found your app to be the be far better than VSCO for the exact reasons you have now removed.
The 5 star reviews are also washed with the same comments so I would hold far higher value in the 1 star reviews who seem to come from real people or at least people who used the previous version.

Extremely disappointed
I LOVED the original version of Aviary and used it constantly for all the great features, stickers, filters, etc... You could do everything on it! When they changed it to a subscription I was hesitant and initially didn't buy in. When it came down to it though, I wanted all the features back so I did the free trial. I was so disappointed by what I found. It is very minimalistic with only a fraction of the options and the stickers are pre-set and seasonal, no more additional options like numbers or banners. It is user friendly but honestly not worth paying for when there are an abundance of free options that do the exact same thing the new Aviary+ does. My suggestion would be to bring back all the options, I would pay for what it used to be.

Oh my god what did you guys do to this app?!?! This is awful! I used this app for YEARS and then suddenly it gets severely downgraded to this. You guys must hate success because you’re doing everything you can to kill it. I don’t know who thought this was a good idea, but they need to be fired immediately. I never leave bad reviews, but wow, this is beyond bad. Wish I could go negative stars.
Also, there is NO WAY they have this good of a rating still on the App Store. Something is fishy. I don’t think all of the 1 star reviews are being counted. I know of a LOT of people who switched their 5 star rating of the original to 1 star after this update, we are pretty sure the App Store isn’t reflecting that. Nobody I know uses this app anymore. Very sus. Just look at the comments section...

The original Aviary was WAY better.
I had the original Aviary app downloaded and used it for years. It was my go to for photo editing, it had everything I needed/wanted in an editing app. When the release for Aviary + was released I no longer had access to the original. After looking in the App Store I found it had been replaced with Aviary +. At first I was super exciting thinking it would be like the original plus more. I as sadly wrong. Even paying for a subscription this app has WAY less than tools and features the original had and I’m so disappointed. It’s been impossible to find anything close to or as good as the original. I never leave reviews, but this has truly upset me.

Less filters, but for a higher price?? To everyone who never had the chance to use this app back when it was free, had endless filters/stickers/backgrounds and so much more, DO NOT download this new app and DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!! Such a huge scam, and such a waste of what was once an incredible app.
It is completely clear that these developers do not need your money to make this app “better for everyone”, and for them to even state such a thing is a slap in the face. It was fantastic once before, and completely free, with plenty of happy users who adored and shared the app. The only reason it was taken down is simple; pure greed.

What happened to the old version of the app ? This was my go-to editor for my photos I use to have so much fun editing photos on here and it was like magic for me when it came to editing my photos. I loved the whiten feature you guys had before, Now the app is completely changed and you have to pay to USE and edit and do the same exact things you can do on a free photo editing app. Please bring back the old aviary for free and leave this paid version for the people who want to pay to edit a photo. Or just leave it how it is and lose fans

I'm very confused by that rating because I see ONE 5 star comment out of a million comments saying the same thing.
I used the old app like everyone else for YEARS, it was my go to and when one day it stopped working and no longer showed up on my phone I was pretty upset. I tried to see what this new app was about but found it frustrating to understand because I was looking for all my old favorites.
I understand a business wants to stay in business by making more money but to take away what was working for what clearly isn't seems more like a loss. Why wouldn't you just have both?!?

I’m reading so many reviews here that echo my disappointment in this upgraded app. I used your app for years, just upgraded my phone, and now I’m stuck with this new one. Like everyone else says, the new app does what all the other ones do. The previous one was so simple, I used it constantly. I loved the specific editing features - blur and blemish, for instance. I would mark up photos and add stickers and frames. Please bring back those features and modify your new app including those old features. I can’t find them on ANY other app!!! Ugh. What a drag.
