MouseAnnie,
Nice app.
I got this app for my toddler son. He loves it, and I like it most of the time It is simple, has a decent sound (better than most, if not all, of the piano and xylophone kids apps I've come across), and I love that the keys are big enough that they are easy to touch the key you want, not the one next to it. My only complaint it the ads. My son hits the ads often and then yells at the iPad because he gets frustrated that the xylophone went away. I would very, very happily pay a dollar or two for this app to not have the app, but there is no Pro version. It is a big enough issue for me that I very often dread my son asking if he can play it, and sometimes hide the app and encourage him towards other ones.
erinbeedle,
wonderful
best $2 I could've spent, my toddler LOVES it. we had the free version, but he just pressed the ads constantly. this is perfect for our needs.

Needs work
Should let us go higher and lower than 3 octaves and should allow us to move the xylophone with a swipe of the finger and let us zoom in and out
S C O,
Just Needs one important fix
The maker needs to make it possible to control the reverb of the notes. This would make the xylophone very very useful for Music composition purposes
Byushidoran,
Update crash
Wow great update....crashes and won't work anymore on my sons iPad mini
thenheartscollide,

Beautiful tones, easy to use, great app for any age!
This is really wonderful. It sounds JUST like a real xylophone. I downloaded it today (7-9-11) and both our 11 month old and 4 year old thought it was great. It responds perfect to the touch (even the double handed "attack" style of the 11 month old!) and what makes it even better for the younger set... NO ads! Keep in mind, it is SIMPLE, it's a single screen, but as the name claims... it is an AWESOME Xylophone :)

UPDATING my review as a result of a recent update by the developer... This WAS the perfect app, until they put ads at the bottom of the screen ... big full length ads that my daughter hits EVERY time she tries to play it :( like others have said... a paid version would be great, or put the ad at the top so it's not quite so intrusive to the app itslef.
XenoGearOmega,
Great but ads interfere
My 7 month old loves this app. She loves hitting it with her hands. Unfortunately, we can't go more than 10 seconds without her hitting an ad and opening it up. I understand you need ad support, but maybe put it in a loading screen or give us the ability to turn off the ability to open them temporarily.
UPDATE: I think it may actually be worse after the update. My daughter still hits the ad constantly and when I close the ad, the first note or 2 is muted and the sticks disappear.
Brad Washington,
Would pay to lose ads
This is a great little app. My two-year-old loves it. I would be happy to pay a couple of bucks for a version that had no ads. I don't want the little one hitting one of the banners and launching an advertisement, and potentially seeing things that we didn't want to or having options to buy things. And the banners are RIGHT BELOW the keys. And he is two, so his aim isnot great...
GAMESHARQ,
Simple and Works!
I can understand why this has only a 3 star rating. This is one of the first apps I downloaded and it's worked perfectly ever since. It's colorful, it has virtual [drum]sticks, and the notes sound perfect. You can hit each note individually and you can slide your finger up and down like a piano. My niece loves it. And since it's free, you can't go wrong!
